Our products help aviators plan, fly, and stay safe, and our finance team plays a critical role in supporting the growth of a global, subscription-driven business.\nPosition Summary\nThe GL Accounting Manager owns the general ledger and the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for Jeppesen ForeFlight. This leader manages a team of accountants, ensures accurate and timely financial reporting under U.S. GAAP, oversees intercompany and multi-currency accounting across global entities, and maintains a strong internal control environment that supports audit and SOX requirements. The role partners closely with FP&A, Revenue Accounting, Tax, Treasury, and business stakeholders. This is not a maintenance role. This position will be required to identify problems, propose solutions and execute on those solutions in a timely manner. Hybrid schedule (2-3 days per week) based in Englewood, CO. Workload increases around period-end close and audit cycles.\nKey Responsibilities\nClose & General Ledger\nLead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, including close calendar, task ownership, and timely, accurate completion.\nReview and approve journal entries, accruals, prepaid amortization, fixed asset activity, and other adjustments.\nOwn balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure variances and reconciling items are identified and resolved timely.\nMaintain the chart of accounts, account mapping, and ERP configuration in partnership with Finance Systems.\nPrepare and review flux analyses and variance commentary for management reporting.\nIntercompany & Multi-Currency\nOversee intercompany transactions, billing, settlement, and eliminations across legal entities.\nManage foreign currency remeasurement and translation, FX revaluation, and related reconciliations.\nCoordinate with international finance teams and Treasury on entity-level reporting and cash positions.\nControls, Audit & Compliance\nOwn design, documentation, and execution of key GL and close controls in support of SOX 404 compliance.\nServe as a primary contact for internal and external auditors; prepare PBC schedules and respond to audit requests.\nIdentify control gaps and drive remediation; support management testing and deficiency evaluation.\nEnsure compliance with company accounting policies and U.S. GAAP; assist with technical accounting memos as needed.\nTeam Leadership & Process Improvement\nManage, coach, and develop GL and staff accountants; set priorities, review work, and conduct performance reviews.\nDrive close acceleration, automation, and standardization of reconciliation and journal entry processes.\nPartner with Revenue Accounting, AP, Payroll, Tax, FP&A, and Treasury to ensure clean cross-functional handoffs.\nSupport special projects, including system implementations, acquisitions integration, and statutory or tax-related reporting.\nQualifications\nRequired\nBachelor's degree in Accounting.\n7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or management role.\nStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes.\nHands-on experience with intercompany accounting and foreign currency transactions.\nExperience with SOX controls and working with external auditors.\nProficiency with a major ERP (e.g., Oracle, NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.\nExcellent communication skills and ability to manage competing deadlines.\nPreferred\nCPA or equivalent certification.\nPublic accounting (Big 4 or national firm) experience.\nExperience in a SaaS, software, or technology company, including subscription and deferred revenue conceptsExperience with reconciliation and close-management tools (e.g., BlackLine, FloQast)\nExperience in a multinational or acquisition-driven environment.\nCore Competencies\nAttention to detail and accuracy; analytical and problem-solving ability; ownership and accountability; collaborative leadership; adaptability in a fast-paced, growing environment; and a continuous-improvement mindset.\nWhy You Should Join (USA):\nAt Jeppesen ForeFlight, we know you want a rewarding career.
