As we continue to grow our presence in Europe, we're building out our Poland-based team and are looking for experienced engineering leadership to help guide that growth.\nAbout the Role\nWe're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers in Denmark. You'll be responsible for the technical direction, delivery, and health of your team, while growing and developing the engineers on it. You'll partner closely with product management, design, and other engineering leaders to deliver reliable, high-quality software that pilots and flight operations teams depend on.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, providing regular feedback, career development, and performance guidance.\nOwn the delivery of your team's roadmap, balancing feature development, quality, and technical debt.\nPartner with product management and design to shape priorities and translate them into achievable engineering plans.\nSet and uphold engineering standards for code quality, testing, architecture, and operational excellence.\nParticipate in technical decision-making and architectural discussions, staying close enough to the codebase to guide the team effectively.\nDrive hiring and onboarding to help scale the team as Jeppesen ForeFlight grows its Denmark presence.\nFoster a healthy, inclusive team culture and collaborative working environment.\nManage project risks, dependencies, and cross-team coordination to ensure predictable delivery.\nReport on team progress, health, and priorities to engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.\nWhat We're Looking For\n5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years directly managing engineers.\nA track record of leading teams that consistently deliver high-quality software on schedule.\nStrong technical background with the ability to engage credibly in architecture and design discussions.\nExperience hiring, coaching, and developing engineers at different levels of seniority.\nExcellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, and design.\nSound judgment in balancing technical excellence, delivery timelines, and team wellbeing.\nExperience with modern software development practices, including CI/CD, code review, and automated testing.\nBased in Denmark or willing to work from our Denmark location, with authorization to work in the EU.\nNice to Have\nExperience managing teams in aviation, geospatial, or other safety-critical, data-intensive domains.\nExperience leading distributed teams across multiple time zones, particularly spanning Europe and the US.\nBackground in front-end, backend, or full-stack engineering prior to moving into management.\nFamiliarity with scaling engineering teams and processes during periods of growth.\nInterest in aviation or flight operations.\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive salary and benefits package.\nThe chance to lead a team building software that supports pilots and flight operations globally.\nA collaborative, international team spanning Europe and the US.\nFlexible working arrangements and a strong culture of continuous learning.\nOpportunities for professional growth within a growing European engineering organization.\nJeppesen ForeFlight is an equal opportunity employer.
