We stand with those who dream bigger, fly farther, and seek to explore the next frontier in the cockpit and operations center.\nJeppesen ForeFlight is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I reporting to the Manager, Professional Services of Crew Implementation & PCS in our Bangalore location.\nAs an SSE, you will work on different software solutions for commercial airlines. You will be responsible for the development of configuration layer, testing, documentation, and maintenance of crew and ops management applications to meet customer, functional, and regulatory requirements.\nA successful candidate is passionate about solving complex real-world problems using technology. You thrive in a dynamic environment and see change as something positive.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nAs part of an agile implementation team, you will:\nDeliver client projects by configuring and customizing our world-leading crew and ops management applications using XML, Python, and our proprietary RAVE language.\nUse a test-driven development methodology to ensure top quality, developing automated test cases as you code.\nWork directly with clients to understand their needs and business objectives and use that information to capture requirements.\nExplain system features and customer specific configuration in a clear and confident way to clients, while managing client expectations and building long-term client relationships.\nTravel to visit our clients on occasion.\nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):\n7+ years of relevant working experience\nAt least 3+ years of software development / programming / implementation experience with Python\nAt least 2+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment\nExperience in airline operations or airline IT, ideally with crew management\nExperience with Git\nGood communication skills (both written & verbal)\nPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):\nExperience working within a Scrum team or in similar Agile project setups\nExperience with:\nTest framework like Gherkin, Behave\nInterfaces and data integration, XML, XSD\nDatabase configuration, big data\nBuilding pipelines, using tools such as GitLab, Jenkins\nVirtual machine, using tools such as Vagrant and VirtualBox\nTypical Education & Experience:\nBachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field\nAbout Jeppesen ForeFlight:\nJeppesen ForeFlight is a leading provider of innovative aviation software solutions, serving the Commercial, Business, Military, and General Aviation sectors globally.
