Since most Java projects in IntelliJ IDEA are built with Maven or Gradle, Java Build Tools is a critical part of the IDE experience, and your work will affect how smoothly our users can open, sync, build, and run their projects. You'll work alongside QA engineers to design and set up our automation process for Gradle and Maven end-to-end tests, as well as implement and automate test scenarios that catch issues before they reach our users.\nWhat you'll do\nCore responsibilities:\nDesign, develop, and maintain multi-platform and environmental (Linux, Windows, MacOS, Docker, WSL) automated test scenarios. \nExpand test coverage for new and existing functionality.\nDebug and troubleshoot test failures.\nImprove existing automation based on team feedback and reduce test flakiness.\nTrack quality metrics, including testing coverage, failure rate, and flakiness.\nContribute to frameworks and tools with product-specific extensions as needed.\nHelp the team monitor test execution results and investigate failures.\nParticipate in release quality assessments.\nCollaborate with QA and developers to define test strategies.\nDo manual QA activities when needed.\nParticipate in the test documentation creation.\nImprove domain-specific test infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines within your team's scope.\nShare automation best practices with the team.\nWork with the tooling team to adopt new frameworks and practices.\nWhat we're looking for\nRequired skills:\nProven experience in test automation.\nSolid programming skills in Kotlin/Java.\nExperience with test frameworks like JUnit or TestNG.\nFamiliarity with build tools, like Maven and Gradle.\nAn understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD tools (TeamCity or similar).\nExperience with reporting tools (Allure or others).\nVersion control experience (Git).\nProficiency in spoken and written English.\nResponsibility, self-discipline, and self-learning skills.\nStrong teamwork skills.\nThe ability to work independently, creatively, and on your own initiative.\nNice to have:\nExperience testing developer tools, IDEs, and desktop applications.\nFamiliarity with JVM Frameworks (Spring or Jakarta) and databases.\nWhy join JetBrains? \nStrong base salary.
