You'll be expected to work from detailed Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and design specifications, translating them into elegant backend solutions.\nYou'll be part of a team that values reliability, scalability, and clean code where every line of code you write is expected to perform flawlessly in production environments.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and develop scalable Node.js backend services and microservices that handle high-volume transactional workloads\nImplement RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services including payment gateways, WhatsApp Business APIs, and external data sources\nWork with distributed databases including CockroachDB, Redis, and Cassandra to optimise data storage, retrieval, and caching strategies\nBuild event-driven workflows and automated processes that guide customers through complex business journeys\nTranslate Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Figma design specifications into technical implementations\nCollaborate with frontend engineers to ensure seamless API contracts and optimal performance\nImplement and maintain comprehensive logging, monitoring, and error tracking across all services\nConduct code reviews and mentor junior developers, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices\nOptimise application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for improved scalability\nParticipate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making\nEnsure data security, compliance, and proper handling of sensitive information including payment data\nTroubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures\nWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following SOLID principles\nCollaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth deployment and monitoring\nRequirements\nMandatory Requirements\n4-5 years of professional experiencedeveloping production-grade applications with Node.js\nStrong proficiency in asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and callback/promise/async-await patterns\nProven experience designing and implementing microservices architecture at scale\nHands-on experience with at least one distributed database system (CockroachDB, Cassandra, or similar)\nDemonstrated expertise with Redis or similar in-memory caching solutions\nExperience integrating third-party APIs and payment gateways (Stripe, Razorpay, PayPal, etc.)\nSolid understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices\nProficiency with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows\nExperience working with BRDs (Business Requirements Documents) and translating them into technical specifications\nAbility to read and interpret design specifications from Figma or similar design tools\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues in production environments\nExperience with SQL and NoSQL databases; understanding of database optimisation and query performance\nFamiliarity with containerisation technologies (Docker) and basic DevOps concepts\nExcellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams\nGood To Have\nExperience with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar) for asynchronous processing\nKnowledge of GraphQL and experience building GraphQL APIs\nExperience with WhatsApp Business API or similar messaging platform integrations\nFamiliarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and serverless architectures\nExperience with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development (TDD)\nContribution to open-source projects or a public GitHub portfolio demonstrating your work\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation\nUnderstanding of security best practices including authentication, authorisation, and data encryption\nWhat we care about\nReliability First: We build systems that cannot fail.
