The FieldEngineer Internpositionwillassistthe project’s fieldmanagementteam in document control, change management, record keeping, scheduling, quality control, safety, and stormwater management.He/shewill assist the Superintendent and field staff in maintaining building control and quality control throughout the project construction process. TheField Engineer Intern will assist in coordination with the Superintendent and Project Management team for all material deliveries, verifying schedule of deliverables and accuracy of material deliveries.\nIn addition, you will support the team and set internship goals by performing any number of the following duties:\nREQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:\nCore Duties / Responsibilities:\nMaintain thorough understanding of contract documents, inclusive of all changes during pre-construction and construction\nDefine and implement procedures for posting revisions and updates to as-built construction documents inclusive of subcontractor and field as-built red-lines\nDevelop and maintain document control logs - submittals, RFI, ASI, change management, etc.\nAssist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.\nThoroughly review submittals against the contract documents\nPrepare, review, and distribute RFI’s. Review subcontractor RFI’s in advance of sending to design team to verify question is not addressed in the contract documents\nAssist with project closeout - obtain warranties and O&M manuals required for final acceptance\nPerform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining percentage of completed/installed materials and work\nAssist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheets\nMaintain job files, records, and as-builts\nDevelop and maintain: Material Tracking List, Project Test/Special Inspection and Inspection Log, Concrete Placement Log, Non-Conformance Report \nPrepare meeting minutes for job coordination and subcontractor meetings. Attend and distribute minutes for both OAC meetings and subcontractor coordination \nCollect and electronically file Superintendent’s Daily Job Reports\nCollect and electronically file project progress photos weekly. Ensure photos taken by Superintendent are saved to Project Management file on JHL network\nAssist with inspection/verification of material deliveries \nAssist in the preparation of work plans and work packages\nOrder and schedule material deliveries as directed by Superintendent\nWork with Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Superintendent to monitor procurement schedule and prioritize submittal and procurement needs consistent with project schedule\nAssist with short interval schedule management with Scheduler, Superintendent & Project Manager input \nCreate supplemental schedules for material deliveries, subcontractors, etc. and direct subcontractors to meet delivery dates & task schedules\nAssist in field work layout support including control points, horizontal and vertical control, and compilation of as-built data to design data\nResolve field construction issues with input from Project Manager and Superintendent \nThorough understanding of each subcontractor’s obligations under their respective subcontract \nAssist with subcontractor pre-construction coordination meetings and documentation\nDevelop and manage completion of punch list in conjunction with Superintendent\nParticipate in job-site safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety training\nAssist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s)\nAssist with job-site safety and storm water compliance documentation and policy implementation.\nOther duties as assigned\nEducation / Experience:\nCurrently enrolled in an Construction Management Program\nObtain as required - project specific and equipment operation safety training.\nAttend training for operational software as needed to stay current.\nSeek training from Superintendents and/or PMs on all areas of self-assessed or assessed opportunities for improvement.\nKnowledge / Skills / Abilities:\nProficiency in Procore, Microsoft Office, and Primavera P6\nStrong computer skills \nAbility to read and understand drawings and specifications\nPositive attitude\nStrong time management and organizational skills \nStrong written and verbal communication skills \nAttention to detail \nOrganization\nResilience \nConcern for safety \nAdaptability\nInteractive \nProject Management \nProblem solving\nPhysical Requirements:Job-site Trailer% of Work Time\nMust have the ability to remain in a seated position.90%\nMust have the ability to speak, write and comprehend English language.100%\nMust have the ability to lift office products and supplies, up to 20 lbs20%\nMust have the ability to hear clearly.100%\nMust have the ability to stoop, kneel, bend and reach.10%\nMust have dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse.100%\nDISCLAIMER:\nThis job description is a summary and not meant to cover or include all tasks, duties, or responsibilities that the employee may be required to perform.
