The project provides safe childbirth for mothers and babies, vaccinates children, treats deadly illnesses and malnutrition, and controls disease outbreaks.\nThe MCGL District Technical Specialist is MCGL’s primary point of contact with Ministry of Health (MOH) District Health Officials and responsible for coordinating the project’s life-saving services and work plan activities across their respective district; and monitoring local partner’s contributions to work plan activities.\nJob Location: Jamalpur\nNo. of opening: 1 (one)\nResponsibilities\nPlan, execute, monitor, and report on MCGL district level activities to deliver life-saving maternal, newborn, and child health and immunization and nutrition services in line with MCGL technical strategies and internationally recognized best practices.\nProvide ongoing technical oversight and ensure quality of health service delivery in all MCGL technical areas in close coordination with the Regional Technical Managers and Technical Director.\nEstablish and maintain productive working relationships with MOH counterparts in the districts and relevant other U.S. Government (USG) implementing partners, and MCGL project management team and the local partners.\nCoordinate MCGL technical activities by local partners in delivery of life-saving services at the district level.\nPrepare MCGL district level technical and program reports and contribute to regular monitoring and evaluation (M&E) data collection and reporting.\nCoordinate district level technical activities in compliance with Jhpiego, USG, and Government of Bangladesh policies and procedures.\nCoordinate local partners’ activities to ensure quality and consistency of technical activities across partners and MCGL-supported service delivery points.\nRegularly travel to MCGL-supported sites to monitor life-saving health service delivery activities and provide real-time feedback to improve the quality and efficiency of project operations.\nRequired Qualifications\nMBBS Degree is required, preferably with MPH \nAt least 5 to 6 years' work experience in relevant foeld.\nTechnical expertise or experience managing project activities in at least two of the following technical areas: maternal, newborn and child health, nutrition, and immunization; quality improvement; and community health development\nDemonstrated ability to lead efficient project management processes and systems across a district-wide, decentralized program.\nPreferred Qualifications\nProven monitoring of work plan activities, particularly those implemented through local partners.\nStrong knowledge of the Bangladesh health system.\nPrevious experience working at the district level in Bangladesh.\nJhpiego offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive employee benefits package.
