The Food Runner is responsible for food preparation, cooking and heating foods for service, maintaining the Hot Food Case/Bar and Salad Bar, while delivering excellent customer service.\nEssential Duties:\nPrepare food for the salad bar and hot case, ensuring organized and efficient cooking and heating.\nCook and heat prepared foods for service under time and temperature guidelines.\nStock and present the hot case and salad bar in an appealing way throughout the day.\nSet up the salad bar, soup station, and hot bar/case within specified time standards.\nMaintain a well-stocked service area, handling tasks such as changing pans, labeling, restocking, and cleaning.\nUphold quality food handling standards, including proper preparation, rotation, and storage in compliance with health regulations.\nMonitor and maintain proper temperatures in the hot case, recording temperature logs.\nAssist in preparing soups and other menu selections.\nProvide exceptional customer service by assisting customers on the floor.\nKeep the work area clean, sanitary, and well-stocked, complying with Health Department regulations.\nOrganize daily menu production based on the production list.\nEnsure accurate department signage with product ingredients.\nFoster open communication and cooperation with Deli/Kitchen staff and assist customers within Customer Service Standards.\nKeep areas well stocked with packaging options.\nOther Responsibilities:\nCollaborate with team members to achieve department and store goals.\nAttend scheduled department and store meetings.\nSafely use knives and other equipment according to guidelines.\nAdhere to deli department and store policies outlined in the Staff Member Handbook and Injury and Illness Prevention Plan.\nMaintain a clean and neat appearance in compliance with the Dress Code policy.\nWork Environment:\nWork under various conditions and temperatures, wet and dry, for extended periods.\nSafely operate around kitchen machinery and sharp knives.\nQualifications\nQualifications:\nUnderstand and follow Health Department regulations, obtaining a Food Handler’s Certificate within 10 days of employment.\nAwareness of handling allergen-containing products.\nFriendly and outgoing personality.\nBasic cutlery and cooking skills.\nAbility to use kitchen equipment as per specifications.\nPrioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.\nRead and understand recipes, including extending recipes.\nPerform basic math for recipe measurements.\nPhysical Demands:\nLift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted throughout any assigned shift.\nStand and walk for extended periods.\nClimb and balance on a step stool/ladder.\nStoop, kneel, and crouch.\nSustain repetitive arm and hand
