Project

The PEGA Lead System Architect (LSA) will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of Pega-based solutions, spanning business requirements gathering, workflow design, application development, and integration implementation.

Responsibilities you'll have

1. Business Requirements Gathering & Analysis

- Conduct structured workshops and interviews with business stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate functional and non-functional requirements

- Translate business needs into Pega-specific solution designs, including case lifecycle models, data models, and UI specifications

- Maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle

- Collaborate with product owners and business analysts to prioritize backlog items and define acceptance criteria

2. Pega Workflow Design & Development

- Design and implement end-to-end case management workflows using Pega's Case Designer, including stages, steps, processes, and alternate flows

- Configure business rules, decision tables, decision trees, and when rules to encode business logic

- Build and maintain data models (data classes, data pages, data transforms) aligned with business requirements

- Develop UI layers

- Apply Pega guardrails and best practices to ensure application maintainability and performance

3. Integrations

- Design and implement integrations with external systems

- Configure data mapping, request/response transformations, and error handling for all integration points

- Work with enterprise integration teams to align on API Data Delivery Agreements

- Implement and test robustness patterns: retry logic, circuit breakers, timeout handling, and fallback flows

4. Architecture & Technical Leadership

- Define and govern the overall Pega application architecture, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards

- Lead technical design reviews and provide architectural guidance to junior developers

- Manage application layering strategy (framework vs. implementation layers) and reuse patterns

5. Quality & Delivery

- Produce and maintain technical documentation: solution design documents, integration specifications, deployment guides

- Coordinate with DevOps/release management teams for CI/CD pipeline integration using Pega Deployment Manager or equivalent tooling

Expected competences and knowledge

• Pega certifications (Certified Pega Lead System Architect is a must)
• 5+ years of experience in SDLC
• 3+ years of experience in architecting and designing Pega solutions
• Experience in designing enterprise class structure and foundational components
• Experience integrating enterprise applications with Pega solutions
• Working knowledge of BPMN (mandatory) and UML (mandatory)
• Process thinking
