The priority is exceptional UX judgment: helping players understand decisions, identify mistakes, practice effectively, and track improvement.\n\nPractical poker knowledge and strategy experience are essential, gained through live/offline play or hands-on use of poker solvers. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, poker experts, and leadership.\n\nWhat You Will Do\n\nOwn UX Direction: Lead design across analysis, practice, coaching, competition, and progression, connecting them into a clear product experience.\n\nShape Product Decisions: Collaborate early with Product and Engineering, using player research and product data to identify and prioritize problems.\n\nHands-on Design & Prototyping: Personally design the most complex user journeys, translating poker strategy, hand analysis, and training data into clear interactions.\n\nUser Research & Testing: Lead usability testing with players, refine solutions before development, and evaluate results after launch.\n\nCross-Platform Experience: Design coherent experiences across desktop and mobile web, with strong information hierarchy, responsive behavior, and accessibility.\n\nDesign Systems & Standards: Set design standards and reusable interaction patterns; partner with Engineering to keep shared components and the shipped experience consistent.\n\nLeadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and develop a small design team through clear expectations, actionable feedback, and regular design reviews.\n\nDomain Integration: Work with poker experts to ensure explanations, drills, and feedback accurately reflect strategy and real study workflows.\n\nAI-Driven Workflows: Develop and test AI-powered workflows across research, prototyping, and design-to-development to improve delivery quality and speed.\n\nExecution & Quality: Review implementation and follow through on usability and design-quality issues until resolved.\nWhat We Are Looking For\n\nPractical Poker Knowledge: Strategy experience through live/offline play or hands-on use of poker solvers. You can explain strategic decisions and discuss how players analyze hands, study, and improve.\n\nSenior Product Design Experience: Proven experience leading product design for complex consumer-facing products, with strong information architecture, interaction design, prototyping, user research, and usability testing.\n\nProven Portfolio: A portfolio of shipped work showing your personal contribution, decisions, trade-offs, and results.\n\nVisual & Data UI Judgment: Strong visual design judgment, including data visualization, hierarchy, and responsive interfaces.\n\nLeadership Skills: 2+ years of experience leading and developing designers (experience leading a small team is sufficient).\n\nProduct Judgment: Ability to influence direction and work effectively with engineers, domain experts, and senior stakeholders.\n\nTooling: Figma proficiency, practical experience with design systems, and experience using AI tools in design or prototyping.\n\nCommunication: Strong written and spoken English.\nNice to Have\n\nExperience designing poker software, solvers, coaching products, or training tools.\n\nExperience with learning journeys, personalization, progress tracking, or other data-rich products.\n\nExperience building or scaling design systems and improving collaboration between design and engineering.\n\nInterested?
