Software Developer

We are looking for a Software Developer and IT Infrastructure Administrator to build internal software applications while managing the Linux-based computational infrastructure supporting genomics and bioinformatics workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Develop Python-based internal applications, dashboards, APIs, reporting tools, and workflow management systems.
• Automate laboratory workflows, sample tracking, metadata management, QC reporting, and sequencing processes.
• Administer Linux (Ubuntu) servers, user accounts, software installation, permissions, and system monitoring.
• Manage PostgreSQL/MySQL databases, data storage, backups, and infrastructure performance.
• Deploy and maintain Docker/Conda environments and support bioinformatics pipelines.
• Collaborate with bioinformatics and laboratory teams to build scalable, reliable, and secure software solutions.

Requirements:

• Required Skills: Python, Linux (Ubuntu), Bash/Shell Scripting, SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL), Docker, Git, REST APIs, Database Management, Workflow Automation.
• Good to Have: Bioinformatics or Genomics experience, Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Conda / Singularity, AWS or GCP, Nextflow, Data Visualisation.
• 2-5 years of experience in Python development, Linux administration, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.
• Experience building internal tools, automation solutions, backend applications, or computational infrastructure.
• Exposure to genomics, life sciences, healthcare, or laboratory environments is preferred but not mandatory.
