Uses various hand tools, micrometers, OD tapes, banders, and wood saws in the manufacturing of rigid PVC pipe.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\n1. Committed to providing our customers with quality products and to the continuous improvement of our capability to do so.\n2. Maintain operation of multiple lines, including packaging end product for shipment.\nLearn and maintain all documentation required for production reporting.\nPrepare packaging materials.\nVisually inspect product for quality control purposes.\nMeasure and record pipe dimensions as directed.\nMake adjustments on bellers and printing equipment as needed.\nMonitor and make adjustments to saw, puller and vacuum tank as needed.\nMove bundled pipe from work area, weigh and document completed bundles (scrap & good product).\nAssist in production line start-up activities and changeovers.\nObserve all operational and safety procedures.\nCut and band scrap as directed.\nRelieve and assist other operators as needed.\nMaintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.\nReport any equipment malfunctions, product defects or unsafe conditions immediately.\nOperate a forklift truck safely and inspect fork trucks as instructed.\nAttend required training sessions and wear the required safety equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses and other safety equipment that might be required for certain tasks.\nWork with a team and with others.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.\nQualifications\nQUALIFICATIONS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.\nREASONING ABILITY\nAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
