This role includes performing production tasks, conducting visual inspections, and packaging finished products to ensure quality standards are consistently met, works rotating shifts.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nKeep equipment and work area clean and orderly in compliance with Total Housekeeping Management (THM) and ISO standards.\nDemonstrate the ability to meet all qualification requirements.\nWork under the direction of the Supervisor.\nOperate extruder machines and control panels used to produce PVC pipe.\nAssist with machine changeovers.\nMeasure pipe specifications and report any issues to the Supervisor and Quality Control.\nIdentify visual defects in pipe during production.\nAccurately calculate and adjust puller speeds as required.\nCut Quality Control testing samples when needed.\nPerform minor equipment repairs.\nFollow safe work practices and report hazardous conditions.\nTrain inexperienced employees when required.\nPerform all necessary measurements using calipers and micrometers to ensure pipe is within tolerance.\nAccurately complete Production Inspection Reports and all supporting documentation.\nRecord bi-hourly line checks and notify the Supervisor of any changes.\nOperate a forklift to move finished product, boxes, materials, and supplies.\nAccurately calculate and make required adjustments to extrusion lines.\nTroubleshoot and perform minor equipment repairs.\nRecord machine conditions and report abnormalities to the Supervisor.\nAccurately calculate machine rate and speed.\nClean extruder and cooling tank water filters.\nMake and collect Quality Control samples as required.\nPerform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.\nSupervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.\nQualifications\nEducation and Experience\nHigh School diploma or recognized equivalent; OR at least 6 months of related experience and/or training; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\nComputer Skills\nNone required.\n\nLanguage Skills\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.\n\nAbility to write routine reports.\n\nAbility to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.\n\nMathematical Skills\nAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, percentages, decimals, circumference, and volume.\n\nAbility to apply basic mathematical concepts including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.\n\nReasoning Ability\nAbility to solve practical problems and work with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.\n\nAbility to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nThe physical requirements described below represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
