Do you thrive on solving complex technical challenges, automating processes, and developing applications that make a real difference?\nAt JMARK, we're looking for a Cloud Systems Administrator & Developer II to join our AI Operations team.\nThis unique position combines AWS cloud infrastructure administration with hands-on software development, giving you the opportunity to manage cloud environments, develop innovative applications, and contribute directly to JMARK's growing AI initiatives.\nWe're looking for someone who can confidently work across both infrastructure and development, take ownership of technical projects, and collaborate with a team that values innovation, continuous improvement, and delivering exceptional results.\nIf you enjoy building solutions rather than simply maintaining systems, this could be the opportunity for you.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nCloud Infrastructure & AWS Administration\nIndependently provision, configure, manage, and optimize AWS cloud resources, including EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, and Lambda.\nDesign, develop, and maintain reusable Terraform modules to automate infrastructure deployments and configurations.\nMonitor cloud environments, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and ensure systems remain secure, reliable, and performing efficiently.\nImplement cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, secrets management, and patching.\nDevelop and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.\nImplement and test backup, redundancy, and disaster recovery processes.\nIdentify opportunities to improve cloud performance, optimize resource utilization, and reduce unnecessary costs.\nBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline infrastructure and application deployments.\nSoftware Development & AI Applications\nDesign, develop, test, and deploy new features and enhancements for JMARK's custom AI application.\nWrite clean, maintainable, production-quality Python code.\nDesign, build, and integrate RESTful APIs that connect applications, cloud services, and data sources.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex application defects, performance issues, and integration challenges.\nWork with SQL and/or NoSQL databases to support application functionality.\nParticipate in code reviews, maintain development standards, and help improve software quality.\nCollaborate with stakeholders to translate business and technical requirements into functional solutions.\nIdentify opportunities to use automation and AI technologies to improve operational efficiency.\nSecurity, Automation & Continuous Improvement\nApply secure coding practices and follow established software development lifecycle and change management processes.\nImplement security controls aligned with NIST, CIS, and OWASP best practices.\nSupport secure application deployments, testing, monitoring, and production change management.\nMaintain documentation for cloud infrastructure, application architecture, and operational processes.\nParticipate in the on-call rotation and assist with after-hours maintenance or critical incidents as needed.\nIdentify opportunities to improve infrastructure reliability, development processes, and overall operational efficiency.\nCollaboration & Technical Leadership\nWork independently on assigned projects while collaborating with other members of the AI Operations team.\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to Level I team members.\nParticipate in peer code reviews and share knowledge with teammates.\nTake ownership of technical challenges and work toward effective, long-term solutions.\nStay current with emerging cloud technologies, DevOps practices, cybersecurity, and AI application development.\nWhat We're Looking For\nWe're looking for a technically capable problem solver who enjoys working across cloud infrastructure and software development.\nTechnical Skills & Experience\nStrong hands-on experience administering AWS cloud environments.\nProficiency with Terraform, including writing reusable modules and managing infrastructure state.\nStrong Python programming skills with experience developing and maintaining production applications.\nExperience designing, building, and integrating RESTful APIs.\nWorking knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases.\nExperience with Git, version control, and software development workflows.\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and DevOps practices.\nStrong understanding of cloud security, IAM, encryption, monitoring, and logging.\nIntermediate Linux and/or Windows administration experience.\nSolid networking knowledge, including DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancing.\nExperience troubleshooting complex infrastructure and application issues.\nUnderstanding of software development lifecycle practices, testing, and code reviews.\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; relevant technical training or certifications; or equivalent professional experience.\nTypically 3-4 years of combined experience in cloud administration and software development, or demonstrated equivalent technical competency.\nAbility to independently manage technical responsibilities and deliver projects with minimal supervision.\nStrong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.\nA desire to continue learning, improving, and expanding technical expertise.\nWhat Would Set You Apart?\nWhile not required, experience in the following areas would be beneficial:\nAWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator.\nHashiCorp Terraform certification.\nExperience developing or supporting AI-powered applications.\nFamiliarity with machine learning concepts or integrating AI services and APIs.\nExperience with Python frameworks used for API or application development.\nExperience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Bash, or PowerShell.\nExperience implementing cloud cost optimization strategies.\nExperience with infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and secure deployment practices.\nPrevious experience working for a Managed Services Provider (MSP).\nExperience mentoring junior technical professionals or leading technical initiatives.\nWhat Makes Someone Successful in This Role?\nAt JMARK, we're looking for more than technical expertise.
