This role will drive procurement best practices, standardize processes and performance metrics, manage supply risks, and collaborate across functions to maintain production commitments while improving team productivity and operational efficiency.\n\nPosition Responsibilities\n\nProcurement Operations & Process Standardization\n\nLead plant procurement processes and implement standardized procurement best practices.\n\nEstablish consistent processes, KPIs, reporting, and training across the procurement team.\n\nDrive continuous improvement and identify opportunities to automate successful processes and reporting.\n\nEnsure requisitions are placed in a timely manner and procurement activities support production requirements.\n\nSupplier Performance & Supply Reliability\n\nPrevent supplier disruptions and ensure reliable material availability for manufacturing operations.\n\nMonitor supplier on-time delivery against established lead times and performance targets.\n\nWork with key suppliers to address capacity constraints and establish action plans.\n\nEnsure suppliers develop monthly production plans that support committed quantities and shipping requirements.\n\nMeasure and communicate supplier performance and establish quarterly and annual targets.\n\nManage source-change plans when transitioning from one supplier to another.\n\nSupply Risk Management\n\nIdentify supply risks 6-9 months in advance and communicate potential impacts to Supply Chain, Operations, and Purchasing leadership.\n\nDevelop and execute mitigation plans to prevent supply disruptions.\n\nCollaborate cross-functionally to address supply challenges and maintain production continuity.\n\nInventory & SAP Management\n\nReview stock status weekly and take appropriate action to maintain material availability.\n\nMonitor SAP inventory parameters, including minimum, maximum, safety stock, and current inventory levels.\n\nRecommend inventory-level adjustments based on operational requirements and supply conditions.\n\nFinancial & Safety Management\n\nMonitor procurement costs and budgetary commitments to support annual financial objectives.\n\nEnforce safety policies and promote a workplace focused on preventing accidents and maintaining compliance.\n\nPrerequisites\n\nBachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related discipline preferred.\n\n3-5 years of professional experience in production, procurement, or a related function within an industrial or manufacturing environment.\n\nProven experience managing procurement activities involving multiple suppliers, processes, and product categories.\n\nStrong leadership and managerial skills with the ability to influence others and effectively manage organizational change.\n\nComprehensive knowledge of supply chain, procurement, and purchasing processes and technologies.\n\nStrong experience with SAP and Microsoft Office applications.\n\nDemonstrated ability in strategic planning, goal setting, problem-solving, and corrective action planning.\n\nStrong business judgment and decision-making skills.\n\nEffective interpersonal, communication, and team-building abilities.\n\nAbility to plan and execute initiatives at both strategic and operational levels.\n\nExperience working successfully within a highly matrixed organization.\n\nDemonstrated ability to build strong teams and promote supply reliability.\n\nHands-on, inquisitive, and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.\n\nAbility to work effectively under pressure while managing multiple priorities.\n\nCertifications (Preferred, but not Required)\n\nCertified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)\n\nCertified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)\n\nCertified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)\n\nLean Six Sigma certification\n\nOther relevant procurement, supply chain, or operations certifications\n\nWhat the Role Offers\n\nCompetitive salary range of $103,000-$159,000 annually.\n\nEligibility for an annual performance-based bonus.\n\nComprehensive medical, prescription drug, vision, and dental insurance.\n\nHealthcare Savings Account and Flexible Spending Account options.\n\nWellness and Employee Assistance Programs.\n\nPaid Time Off and Paid Parental Leave.\n\n401(k) with company match and retirement benefits.\n\nLife insurance, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability coverage.\n\nCommuter, legal, identity protection, and insurance benefits.\n\nBackup child and elder care resources.\n\nEmployee discounts and volunteer opportunities.\n\nCompany-issued safety shoes and safety glasses.\n\nOpportunities to lead procurement improvement, supplier development, and supply reliability initiatives.\n\nWhy Worcester?\n\nWorcester provides a strong industrial and manufacturing environment that supports professionals working in procurement, supply chain, and operations leadership.
