The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineering, production, materials, service, and suppliers to drive continuous improvement and achieve quality objectives.\n\nPosition Responsibilities\n\nQuality Engineering and Systems\n\nProvide quality engineering oversight for products, manufacturing processes, suppliers, and quality management systems.\n\nSupport the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality standards and procedures.\n\nEnsure product designs, engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes meet applicable quality requirements.\n\nRoot Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions\n\nLead cross-functional investigations into internal defects, supplier issues, service concerns, product failures, and customer returns.\n\nDevelop and implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues.\n\nApply root cause analysis methodologies to prevent recurring defects and improve product reliability.\n\nQuality Data Analysis and Process Improvement\n\nApply Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Gage R&R, process capability studies, and other quality tools.\n\nAnalyze quality and warranty data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.\n\nLead initiatives to reduce defects, rework, scrap, customer returns, production interruptions, and the overall cost of poor quality.\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration and Training\n\nCollaborate with engineering, manufacturing, production, materials, service, and suppliers to resolve quality issues.\n\nProvide technical guidance and quality training to plant personnel.\n\nManage multiple projects and drive assignments to completion across cross-functional teams.\n\nPrerequisites\n\nBachelor's degree in engineering or another technical discipline, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.\n\nStrong knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.\n\nWorking knowledge of SPC, process capability, Pareto analysis, Gage R&R, FMEA, control plans, and First Article Inspection.\n\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.\n\nDemonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive projects without direct authority.\n\nStrong project management, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical or quality analysis software.\n\nAbility to work effectively in both self-directed and team-oriented environments.\n\nCertifications (Preferred, but Not Required)\n\nLean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training or certification.\n\nAdditional professional certifications in quality engineering or quality management.\n\nAdvanced training in statistical analysis, process improvement, or quality systems.\n\nWhat the Role Offers\n\nSalary Range: $80,000-$110,000 per year.\n\nAn opportunity to lead quality engineering initiatives and improve product reliability.\n\nThe ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams on meaningful process improvements.\n\nOpportunities to reduce manufacturing costs and strengthen quality systems.\n\nProfessional growth through technical leadership and continuous improvement projects.\n\nWhy Tucson?\n\nTucson offers a diverse manufacturing and engineering environment with opportunities for quality professionals to contribute to product reliability, process optimization, and operational excellence.
