This role works closely with cross-functional teams to enhance equipment reliability, operational efficiency, safety, and production performance.\n\nPosition Responsibilities\n\nAutomation System Design and Implementation\n\nLead the design, development, integration, and implementation of industrial automation systems.\n\nEvaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation.\n\nDevelop and optimize control systems, equipment interfaces, and automated production processes.\n\nSupport the installation, commissioning, and validation of new automation equipment and technologies.\n\nTroubleshooting and System Optimization\n\nDiagnose and resolve complex automation, controls, and equipment issues.\n\nAnalyze system performance and implement improvements to increase reliability, productivity, and product quality.\n\nSupport preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives to minimize equipment downtime.\n\nConduct root cause analysis and develop corrective actions for recurring technical issues.\n\nProject Management and Collaboration\n\nLead automation projects from initial planning through implementation and performance evaluation.\n\nCollaborate with manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to meet project objectives.\n\nCoordinate with equipment vendors and technical partners on system upgrades and integration.\n\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, technicians, and other team members.\n\nSafety and Continuous Improvement\n\nEnsure automation systems comply with applicable safety standards and engineering requirements.\n\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives focused on production efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.\n\nMaintain technical documentation, system specifications, and operating procedures.\n\nStay current with emerging automation technologies and industry best practices.\n\nPrerequisites\n\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.\n\nSignificant experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or manufacturing systems.\n\nStrong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, industrial robotics, sensors, instrumentation, and control systems.\n\nExperience with automation system integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization.\n\nFamiliarity with industrial communication protocols and manufacturing equipment.\n\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.\n\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.\n\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and operational teams.\n\nAbility to manage multiple projects and work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\n\nCertifications (Preferred, but Not Required)\n\nProfessional certifications in automation, controls engineering, or industrial systems.\n\nPLC programming or industrial robotics certifications.\n\nTraining in industrial networking, motion control, or advanced manufacturing technologies.\n\nProject management, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma certifications.\n\nRelevant workplace safety training.\n\nWhat the Role Offers\n\nSalary Range: $104,800-$144,100 per year.\n\nAn opportunity to lead advanced automation projects in a manufacturing environment.\n\nThe ability to improve production performance, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency.\n\nCollaboration with multidisciplinary engineering and operations teams.\n\nOpportunities for professional growth through technical leadership and exposure to emerging automation technologies.\n\nWhy Harvey?\n\nHarvey offers access to an established industrial and manufacturing environment, providing opportunities for automation professionals to contribute to production technology, equipment modernization, and operational improvements.
