This role will apply materials engineering expertise to product and process development, resolve technical challenges, evaluate material performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve quality, reliability, and manufacturing efficiency.\n\nPosition Responsibilities\n\nMaterials Development & Selection\n\nEvaluate and select materials based on performance, quality, cost, manufacturability, and application requirements.\n\nDevelop and optimize material specifications for new and existing products.\n\nInvestigate material properties, compatibility, and performance to support product and process requirements.\n\nSupport the development and qualification of new materials and material formulations.\n\nTesting & Analysis\n\nDesign and conduct material testing and evaluations to verify performance and reliability.\n\nAnalyze test results and identify opportunities for material or process improvements.\n\nInvestigate material-related failures and develop corrective actions.\n\nProvide technical recommendations based on engineering analysis and testing.\n\nProduct & Process Development\n\nPartner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and product development teams on new product and process initiatives.\n\nProvide materials engineering expertise throughout product development and commercialization.\n\nSupport process optimization and troubleshooting related to material performance.\n\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.\n\nQuality & Compliance\n\nEstablish and maintain material specifications, testing standards, and technical documentation.\n\nSupport quality investigations and corrective action activities involving materials.\n\nEnsure materials and processes meet applicable industry standards and customer requirements.\n\nCollaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve material quality issues.\n\nSupplier & Cross-Functional Collaboration\n\nWork with material suppliers to evaluate new materials, address performance concerns, and improve material quality.\n\nCommunicate technical requirements and material specifications to suppliers and internal stakeholders.\n\nProvide technical guidance and support to cross-functional teams on materials-related issues.\n\nPrerequisites\n\nBachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.\n\nSignificant experience in materials engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.\n\nStrong knowledge of materials properties, selection, testing, and characterization.\n\nExperience with product and process development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\n\nAbility to interpret technical data and translate findings into practical engineering solutions.\n\nExperience collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\n\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\n\nCertifications (Preferred, but not Required)\n\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license.\n\nSix Sigma or Lean Six Sigma certification.\n\nRelevant materials science, quality, or manufacturing certifications.\n\nWhat the Role Offers\n\nCompetitive salary range of $120,000-$150,000 annually.\n\nOpportunity to lead materials development, testing, and process improvement initiatives.\n\nCollaboration with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams.\n\nOpportunities for professional growth and technical development.\n\nA role focused on improving product quality, material performance, and manufacturing efficiency.\n\nWhy Landisville?\n\nLandisville offers a strong manufacturing and industrial environment that supports engineering professionals working in materials development, product improvement, and process optimization.
