& Repairs:\nAssist the Maintenance Manager with the day-to-day management of all maintenance activities across the Estate.\nCarry out general maintenance, repairs and preventative maintenance.\nAttend to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, tiling, building, mechanical and general maintenance requirements where competent to do so.\nIdentify faults and maintenance requirements before they become major problems.\nAssist with repairs to guest rooms, chalets, offices, public areas, staff facilities and operational buildings.\nMaintain and repair doors, locks, windows, fixtures, fittings and furniture.\nAssist with water systems, pumps, geysers, tanks and related infrastructure.\nAssist with maintenance of swimming pools, water features and recreational facilities where required.\nAttend to urgent breakdowns and maintenance emergencies.\nEnsure maintenance work is completed properly, safely and within reasonable timeframes.\nTeam Leadership & Supervision:\nAssist in supervising and coordinating the Maintenance Department.\nAllocate daily tasks to maintenance staff and ensure work is completed.\nLead by example and be willing to work alongside the maintenance team.\nMonitor the quality and progress of maintenance work.\nAssist with managing staff attendance, punctuality and productivity.\nProvide guidance and practical assistance to team members.\nEncourage a positive, cooperative and accountable working environment.\nReport performance, disciplinary or operational concerns to the Maintenance Manager.\nPreventative Maintenance:\nAssist with implementing and maintaining a preventative maintenance programme.\nConduct regular inspections of buildings, equipment, facilities and infrastructure.\nIdentify potential maintenance issues and recommend corrective action.\nEnsure maintenance schedules are followed.\nKeep records of completed maintenance and outstanding work.\nAssist in maintaining an up-to-date maintenance job card/work order system.\nEstate & Property Maintenance:\nDue to the size and nature of the Estate, the successful candidate must be comfortable working throughout the property and assisting with a wide variety of maintenance requirements.\nThis may include:\nHotel and guest accommodation\nSelf-catering chalets\nStaff accommodation and facilities\nOffices\nRestaurants and kitchen areas\nConference and event facilities\nSwimming pools and recreational areas\nRoads, walkways and public areas\nWater and irrigation infrastructure\nElectrical infrastructure\nPumps and machinery\nFencing, gates and access points\nGeneral buildings and structures\nCamp and activity areas\nEstate infrastructure and facilities\nStock, Tools & Equipment\nAssist with controlling maintenance tools, equipment and consumables.Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and stored correctly.\nMonitor maintenance stock levels.\nInform the Maintenance Manager when materials or spare parts are required.\nAssist with preventing unnecessary wastage, damage or loss of tools and materials.\nEnsure tools and equipment are used safely and responsibly.\nContractors & Suppliers:\nAssist the Maintenance Manager in supervising contractors working on the property.\nEnsure contractors follow Estate rules and safety requirements.\nMonitor the quality of contractor work.\nAssist with obtaining quotations and sourcing materials where required.\nBuild and maintain good working relationships with reliable suppliers and service providers.\nGuest & Hospitality Support:\nRespond promptly to maintenance issues affecting guests.\nAssist with urgent guest-room maintenance requirements.\nEnsure maintenance issues are handled professionally and with minimal disruption to guests.\nUnderstand that maintenance directly affects the guest experience and reputation of the Estate.\nCommunicate professionally with management, staff, guests and contractors.\nEmergency & After-Hours Duties:\nHospitality operations continue outside normal office hours. The successful candidate must therefore be prepared to:\nParticipate in an after-hours/on-call maintenance arrangement.\nRespond to genuine maintenance emergencies when required.\nAssist with urgent breakdowns affecting guests, staff or operations.\nBe available during weekends, public holidays or outside normal working hours when operationally required, subject to the applicable employment conditions and company arrangements.\nRemain calm and solution-focused during emergencies.Requirements:\nA trade qualification or formal technical qualification\nPrevious experience in a maintenance position.\nExperience working with and/or supervising a maintenance team.\nGood practical knowledge of general property maintenance.\nAbility to perform hands-on maintenance work.\nExperience in a hospitality, hotel, lodge, resort, estate, commercial property or similar environment would be highly advantageous.\nAbility to troubleshoot and identify maintenance problems.\nValid driver's licence.\nGood communication skills.\nAbility to work independently without constant supervision.\nAbility to work as part of a team.\nWillingness to live on the property.\nWillingness to be on call when
