Minimum qualifications
Grade12(Matric)isoftenpreferredorrequired,dependingontheemployer.
Basic English communication and reading skills.
Basic mathematics and record-keeping skills.
Previous manufacturing or packaging experience is an advantage.
Pharmaceutical manufacturing or GMP training is beneficial for pharmaceutical positions.
2. Technical skills
Abilitytosetup,operate,andmonitorblisterpackagingmachines.
Knowledge of machine start up, shutdown, and basic trouble shooting.
Ability to check packaging materials, such as PVC, aluminium foil, and sealing foil.
Ability to inspect blister packs for defects, such as poor sealing, damaged cavities, missing tablets, or incorrect printing.
Understanding of production targets and quality standards.
Abilitytocompleteproductionrecordsandreportmachinefaults.
3. Main job responsibilities
Follow Good Manufacturing Practice(GMP)and Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs).
Clean and sanitise the machine and production area.
Perform line clearance before starting a new batch or product.
Checkbatchnumbers,expirydates,andprintedpackagingdetails.
Monitor machine speed, temperature ,and sealing quality.
Record production quantities, rejects, downtime, and material usage.
Report breakdowns and quality problems to the supervisor or maintenance team.
Wear the required personal protective equipment(PPE).
Meet daily production targets while maintaining product quality.
