RESPONSIBILITIESSupervise civil construction, maintenance and infrastructure projects across the mining operation.\nPlan and coordinate daily civil engineering activities and resources.\nSupervise contractors and civil engineering teams on site.\nEnsure work is executed according to approved drawings, designs, specifications and quality standards.\nMonitor progress against project schedules and identify potential delays.\nInspect completed and ongoing work to ensure compliance with required standards.\nCoordinate earthworks, excavation, foundations, concrete works, roads, drainage and stormwater infrastructure.\nOversee construction and maintenance of mine roads, haul roads, drainage systems, dams, workshops, plant foundations and other mine infrastructure.\nEnsure appropriate quality control and material testing is conducted.\nMonitor contractor performance, productivity, resources and workmanship.\nAssist with project cost control, procurement and management of materials.\nIdentify civil engineering risks and implement appropriate corrective actions.\nEnsure compliance with mine health and safety requirements and applicable legislation.\nParticipate in risk assessments, inspections, toolbox talks and safety meetings.\nEnsure all civil activities are properly documented and reported.\nInvestigate defects, failures and maintenance requirements and recommend corrective measures.\nCoordinate civil work around operating mining equipment and production activities.\nProvide regular progress reports to the Engineering Manager / Mine Manager.\nEnsure environmental requirements are considered during construction and maintenance activities.\nPromote a strong safety, quality and performance culture within the civil engineering function.\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS\nNational Diploma / Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.\nRelevant supervisory or construction management qualification will be advantageous.\nMinimum 5 years' relevant civil engineering experience, preferably within the mining industry.\nMinimum 2-3 years' supervisory experience.\nExperience managing civil contractors and construction teams.\nMining experience is highly advantageous.\nValid driver's licence.\nComputer literacy, including MS Office.\nKnowledge of civil engineering drawings, specifications and construction methods.\nStrong understanding of health and safety requirements within a mining environment.\nTECHNICAL EXPERIENCE\nThe successful candidate should have practical experience in several of the following:\nEarthworks
