Candidates qualified by experience in a related role and industry will also be considered. Experience with ERP systems such as Business Central, Navision, Oracle, or similar will be an added benefit, and experience in the Wine, Agri, or FMCG sector will be a plus.\nThis is a good opportunity for a person to join a prestigious group, with growth potential and will be reporting to the Financial Manager.\nPurpose of the role:\nCalculate accurate manufacturing costs so that the correct selling price and gross margins can be established, ensure accurate stock intake on WineMS and BC and assist with general accounting functions in the finance department.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nReview accuracy of stock counts for all winehouses\nVerify that the stock counts received are correct and accurate.\nAnalyse variances and identify reasons for discrepancies and report to the cost accountant.\nProduction orders and analysis of input costs\nUpdate POR’s in BC - ensure correct stock items consumed and produced.\nEnsure correct costs and quantities are used.\nQuery discrepancies and follow up daily/weekly on outstanding POR’s.\nRecordkeeping & comparison of prices of new and existing suppliers; Compilation of supplier pricing.\nFile (Costing Masterfile).\nAnalyse finished stock pricing.\nBulk wine management\nCreate Purchase and Wine delivery in WineMS for Bulk wine.\nEnsure accurate quantities and costs are captured on Wine MS for bulk wine.\nMatch Invoices to PO’s and Wine deliveries.\nFor FT wines ensure all documents comply.\nReconciliations & Accounting\nAccounting duties:\nAssist with month end processes.\nAccountable for the processing of bank statements.\nAssist Financial Manager with the financial audit working papers and queries.\nReconciliations:\nPerform and post of monthly bank reconciliations - all local accounts and credit cards.\nMonthly balance sheet reconciliations.\nAssist with intercompany reconciliations and journals.\nDry goods (inventory creditors)\nAccurate capturing of creditors documents on the System.\nCommunication with suppliers with regards to account and payments.\nReconciliation between system and supplier statement.\nPrepare and load payment on bank for approval.\nAdministering intercompany creditor accounts.\nCompliance\nQuarterly Stats SA financial questionnaire.\nQualifications and Experience:\nDegree or Diploma in Financial Accounting , Management and Cost Accounting, or similar.\nProfessional qualification preferred - SAIPA or CIMA.\nMinimum 3 years experience.\n3 - 5 years general cost management and financial accounting and administration experience in a financial corporate environment.\nExperience in manufacturing industry will be beneficial.\nPrevious experience working with Business Central, Navision, or similar ERP will be beneficial.\nStrong proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.\nSector experience in the Wine, Agri, or related industry will be a plus.\nExcellent attention to detail and deadline driven.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nRemuneration:\nR300,000 to R420,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3420,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":3,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"master","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Consumer Goods","Manufacturing"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-20T14:37:17Z"},{"event":"close","at":"2026-09-20T18:11:58Z"},{"event":"reopen","at":"2026-09-23T14:44:20Z"}],"liveness":{"score":20,"band":"cold","label":"Long shot","p_open":1,"p_active":0.355,"p_room":0.55,"age_days":3,"expected_fill_days":3,"reasons":["conf:1","agency","win:tail","comp:brand"],"computed_at":"2026-09-23T21:19:34Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":25848,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/job-mail-cost-accountant-27","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/job-mail-cost-accountant-27.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-23T21:19:34Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers"}}
