Your work will directly enable smarter, faster financial services and help shape the future of data in Payments.\nWhat you'll be doing\nDeveloping and maintaining data pipelines to support real-time and batch processing.\nWriting and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts for data processing.\nSupporting ETL/ELT workflows for data integration and transformation.\nCollaborating with team members to integrate data from various sources into centralized systems.\nImplementing and managing data streaming solutions using platforms like Kafka or RabbitMQ.\nEnsuring data quality and reliability across all pipelines and processes.\nMonitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines to ensure performance and reliability.\nDocumenting data workflows and providing support for data-related issues.\nEssential skills you'll bring to the table\nThe necessary skills that we require for this role include:\nBachelor's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.\n2-4 years of experience in data engineering or related roles.\nStrong SQL skills, including querying and optimizing database operations.\nExperience developing data pipelines for real-time and batch processing.\nHands-on experience with data streaming platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.\nFamiliarity with ETL processes and tools.\nProficiency in a programming language such as Python or Java for data tasks.\nKnowledge of data modelling basics for relational databases.\nAttention to detail and a commitment to ensuring data accuracy and reliability.\nProblem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues in data systems.\nDesirable skills you've got up your sleeve\nIt would be great if you also have some of the following skills:\nRelevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer, or Databricks Certified Data Engineer).\nFamiliarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-based data services.\nExposure to big data technologies such as Spark or Hadoop.\nExposure to Apache Spark, Airflow, Kafka\nKnowledge of data governance and compliance standards.\nExperience with data formats like JSON or Parquet.\nWriting clean, modular code for data processing, automation, and integration with APIs or cloud services.\nBasic understanding of containerization tools such as Docker.\nInterest in learning and adopting emerging data technologies.\nOur values are non-negotiables\nOur culture is underpinned by core values that are linked to key behavioural competencies.
