This role ensures the delivery of reliable, scalable, and cost-effective data solutions that support business decision-making and operational efficiency.\nKey Responsibilities\nData & Reporting Management\n- Manage and oversee all core business reporting across the organisation\n- Maintain, enhance, and take ownership of existing reporting solutions\n- Continuously optimise and improve reporting performance, usability, and accuracy\n- Drive standardisation of reporting metrics and definitions across the business\nData Engineering & Pipelines\n- Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines across both on-premise and cloud environments\n- Ensure efficient data ingestion, transformation, and delivery across multiple data sources\n- Implement best practices for scalability, performance, and reliability of data pipelines\nTeam Leadership & Coordination\n- Coordinate and guide the data engineering function with support from the CIO\n- Provide technical direction, mentorship, and oversight to the data team\n- Align data initiatives with business and executive objectives\nData Architecture & Strategy\n- Define and maintain the organisation’s data architecture (e.g., lakehouse, warehouse, hybrid models)\n- Ensure alignment between data engineering, reporting, and business needs\n- Drive innovation by identifying and implementing modern data solutions\nCloud & Cost Management\n- Manage cloud data platforms, storage, and compute resources\n- Monitor and optimise capacity usage (e.g., compute units, storage costs)\n- Implement cost-efficient data processing and storage strategies\nData Governance & Quality\n- Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, standards, and policies\n- Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all systems\n- Implement monitoring and validation processes to maintain data integrity\nDatabase Administration Support\n- Assist with database administration tasks, including performance tuning, backups, and maintenance\n- Support the stability and reliability of on-premise and cloud database environments\nKey Skills & Experience\n- Strong experience in data engineering, BI, and data warehousing\n- Advanced SQL and experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Azure, SQL Server)\n- Experience building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines\n- Understanding of data architecture principles and best practices\n- Experience with cloud cost management and optimisation\n- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management
