Responsibilities\nDevelop electrical designs for HV and MV substations and associated infrastructure.\nProduce and review single-line diagrams, schematics, protection and control drawings.\nPerform electrical engineering calculations and equipment sizing.\nDevelop specifications and technical schedules for transformers, switchgear, CTs, VTs, protection equipment and other substation equipment.\nUndertake substation layouts, equipment arrangements and cable schedules.\nAssist with protection and control system design and integration.\nPerform electrical studies and calculations where required, including fault-level, load-flow and protection-related studies.\nPrepare technical reports, design documentation and engineering deliverables.\nReview drawings, calculations and technical documentation produced by other engineers and designers.\nLiaise with clients, suppliers, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.\nProvide technical support during procurement, construction, testing and commissioning.\nConduct site inspections and support troubleshooting and technical investigations.\nEnsure designs comply with applicable South African and international electrical standards and project specifications.\nContribute to project planning, technical proposals and engineering estimates where required.\nMinimum Requirements\nBEng / BSc / BTech in Electrical Engineering.\nProfessional registration with ECSA or progress toward professional registration will be advantageous.\n3-8 years' relevant electrical engineering experience, preferably within substation, transmission, distribution or power infrastructure projects.\nProven experience in substation electrical design.\nGood understanding of HV/MV electrical systems, protection, switchgear and transformers.\nExperience producing and interpreting electrical engineering drawings and documentation.\nKnowledge of relevant standards, codes and utility requirements.\nExperience with electrical design and engineering software.\nStrong technical report-writing and documentation skills.\nValid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project and client sites when
