REQUIREMENTS
  • Affirmative action South African citizen
  • Available for a 12-month renewable contract
  • Grade 12 + Trade Test and Minimum N6 qualification
  • Minimum 5 years experience in:
  • Design , develop and install small automation systems
  • SCADA systems - application, setup and programming preferably using Adroit
  • Siemens PLC setup and programming preferably using Wonderware
  • Working with EPLAN or similar software for documenting wiring diagrams
  • PLC programming using RS Logixs or RS Logixs 5000
  • Working with industrial communication networks (Ethernet, RS232, Profibus, AK)
  • Calibration of sensitive measurement equipment like load cells, temperature controller, data loggers
  • Some exposure to robotics
  • Willing to work standby, overtime and/or weekends as required
  • Willing to travel overseas for periods up to 3 months

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • All routine maintenance of electronic equipment and automation systems (PCs, PLCs, and electronic devices) as per preventative maintenance program
  • Fault finding and repair of equipment in the event of a breakdown, ensuring minimum downtime
  • Assist in compiling design specifications of new equipment/ systems
  • Installation and commissioning of new equipment/ systems
  • In-house calibration of electronic equipment and instruments
  • Decommissioning and commissioning of all equipment for external calibration
  • Document control in line with Quality Management System
  • Participate in developing new documentation about facility operation and maintenance (procedures, schematics)
