Ability to read technical diagrams, manuals and equipment specifications - Strong understanding of health and safety requirements and safe working procedures - Experience using a CMMS such as OMNI or similar advantageous - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship - Ability to respond quickly to breakdowns and urgent maintenance requirements - Professional and guest-focused when working in occupied rooms, offices and public areas - Ability to work shifts, weekends, public holidays and assist with emergency call-outs when required - Valid South African ID - A fully updated CV with Red Seal certification, relevant qualifications and contactable reference details is essential\nWhat You’ll Be DoingCarrying out day-to-day facilities maintenance, repairs and technical fault-finding throughout the property - Maintaining guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, kitchens, conference facilities and back-of-house operational areas - Inspecting, servicing and repairing HVAC, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems within your technical scope - Attending to plumbing faults, leaks, drainage issues and associated repairs - Carrying out electrical maintenance and fault-finding within your authorised scope - Completing general building maintenance and repairs to fixtures, fittings, doors, locks and equipment - Conducting planned and preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and equipment downtime - Responding promptly to urgent maintenance requests and technical breakdowns - Diagnosing faults, completing repairs and escalating specialist work when required - Working closely with Housekeeping, Front Office, F&B and other operational departments to resolve maintenance issues efficiently - Monitoring equipment performance and identifying recurring faults or potential maintenance concerns - Completing job cards, maintenance records and OMNI/CMMS tasks accurately - Following all required health, safety and environmental procedures - Supporting the wider Maintenance team during emergencies and high-demand operational periods -
