Financial Controller

A well-established manufacturing business is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join its finance team on a 6-month contract in Johannesburg East. This high-impact opportunity offers exposure to a large-scale system implementation and data migration project, while maintaining oversight of key financial controls and reporting processes.

The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the business, ensuring financial accuracy, supporting operational efficiency, and contributing to the successful delivery of a strategic business initiative. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys driving change.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support ERP rollout and system implementation initiatives.
• Manage data migration and financial mapping processes.
• Strengthen and maintain internal financial controls.
• Prepare financial reports and management accounts.
• Support audit requirements and compliance activities.
• Process ledger entries and manage clearing accounts.
• Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Engage with key stakeholders and provide executive-level financial support.
• Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information throughout the transition period.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a Financial Controller or similar role.
• Experience with ERP implementations and system migrations advantageous.
• Strong financial reporting and reconciliation experience.
• Solid understanding of internal controls and financial processes.
• Exposure to the manufacturing or construction industry preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight project deadlines.
