The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting as well as additional support in financial management work allocated for the subsidiaries within the group.\nSummary of duties:\nAllocating of all commissions received from institutions to representatives (advisors) and agents, as and when received\nAllocating differences in commissions received to addcoms or clawbacks as appropriate\nInvestigating any material differences in commissions raised and received\nProducing month end reports within the allocated time frames\nReconciling of month-end reports within the allocated time frames\nProduction of sub-agent statements within the allocated time frames\nEnsuring that outstanding debtors are effectively followed up on in order to minimize clawbacks and keep the age analysis report as current as possible.\nEnsuring accurate and effective maintenance and capturing of commission records and following up on incorrect commission loadings by staff members.\nFollowing relevant existing documented processes to ensure that all responsibilities and functions are accurately and effectively performed\nEnsuring required deadlines are adhered to\nEnsuring that knowledge of required internal and third party software packages in order to complete daily tasks remains market related and of a good standard (e.g. Xero, Accpac, Excel, MS Word, Outlook and any other packages that may be used from time to time)\nChecking work for correctness to ensure integrity of information captured in order to minimise the potential for negative financial impact on the Company\nExercise due care in the performance of your duties in order to minimize potential losses to the company\nDealing with any relevant mail accordingly\nMaintaining good relations with colleagues in order to ensure a constructive and pleasant working environment\nSupporting with introducing innovation and technology applications to simplify, automate and introduce best practices\nReview and analyse recorded financial information to assist management with insights for better decision making\nAssisting and getting involved in extra mural activities arranged from time to time (e.g. staff socials, assisting at after-hour or weekend marketing events, fundraisers etc) in order to both help promote a good internal working environment as well as promote NVest and Group companies positively to the public. It is expected that you will volunteer to assist from time to time when required as it is important for the company that we have staff who are prepared to offer their additional time and service to the company in order to retain our strong brand and presence\nGeneral administrative functions that may be required of you from time to time\nQualifications & Experience\nBCom Accounting degree or related finance qualification\nWorking experience with commissions and least 5 years in a mid to senior position\nExperience in preparation of monthly Management Accounts and reporting\nExperience in preparation of audit files and liaison and assistance with annual audits\nWorking knowledge of IFRS and the various Accounting Standards\nExperience in Microsoft, Sage AccPac, Xero, Spotlight, COMM space or another recognised accounting software packages\nGood Microsoft Excel skills including advanced formulae\nStrong numerical skills and aptitude\nGood people’s skills in respect of both staff and clients - and be able and willing to effectively communicate verbally and electronically\nMust be able to understand and follow accounting policies and procedures\nProblem solver and ability to make suggestions and recommendations for improvements to existing systems\nExcellent attention to detail\nAbility to use initiative and work under pressure\nBe someone who takes responsibility and ownership of a role and prefers to operate under only limited supervision\nAbility to work overtime if / when required\nAbility to communicate at first language English level\nShould you wish to apply please email your CV through to Meriek Robinson at  Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
