Essential experience and attributes
- SA Citizen
- 8-10 years of senior hospitality management experience, ideally within a comparable boutique hotel or small-hotel operation.
- Experience working across more than one property would be advantageous.
- A proven ability to work independently, take full ownership and make sound decisions with confidence and accountability.
- High levels of integrity, discretion and trustworthiness.
- Strong commercial and financial understanding, including budgeting, rate strategy, revenue performance and P&L management.
- An exceptional guest focus, with a natural eye for detail and a commitment to consistently high standards.
- A hands-on and instinctive leadership style, with the ability to build, motivate and develop a strong and cohesive team.
- Sound knowledge of property management systems, marketing and revenue management.
- Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect naturally with local people, suppliers, industry peers and professional contacts.
- A genuine desire to live in and contribute to a countryside, small-town community.
- Food and beverage management experience.
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans (German language skills highly advantageous)
- An established network within the Western Cape hospitality and/or wine industry.
- Experience overseeing more than one property simultaneously.
