Internal Sales Assistant

The Inside Sales role will primarily support the Business Development Executive within the designated sales territory and help increase sales capacity as the business grows.

The role will focus on generating new leads, qualifying inbound and outbound opportunities, nurturing prospective customers and maintaining accurate sales information in the CRM.

You will assist the Business Development Executive with sales of our Siemens Simcenter and SolidCAM engineering software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Business Development Executive to achieve sales targets and increase revenue within the territory.
• Generate new leads through prospecting, cold calling, email outreach and account research.
• Qualify inbound leads generated through website enquiries, webinars, seminars, events and marketing campaigns.
• Contact prospective customers and identify relevant engineering, manufacturing or business requirements.
• Set up qualified meetings for the Business Development Executive and technical team.
• Create and update leads, contacts and sales opportunities in the CRM.
• Convert qualified leads into opportunities and maintain clear next steps.
• Follow up on customer calls, emails, quotations, demonstrations and outstanding actions.
• Nurture prospective customers who are not yet ready to purchase.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and support sales forecasting.
• Research target industries, companies and market segments within the territory.
• Assist with the execution of sales and marketing campaigns.
• Coordinate technical demonstrations, evaluations and customer meetings.
• Liaise with the technical team regarding customer requirements and demo preparation.
• Assist with the preparation of quotations, proposals and customer documentation.
• Follow up on outstanding purchase orders, documentation and payments.
• Liaise with the accounts and technical teams regarding delivery and implementation.
• Develop product knowledge through eLearning, coaching and internal training.

Formal Education and Certification

• Matric with standard Mathematics.
• A relevant sales, business, technical or engineering qualification will be advantageous.
• Previous experience in software, engineering or industrial sales will be advantageous.

• Three to five years’ experience in a B2B sales, inside sales, sales development or account support environment.
• Experience in cold calling and outbound prospecting.
• Experience qualifying leads and booking customer meetings.
• Experience supporting a Business Development Executive or sales team in achieving targets.
• Experience in engineering, manufacturing, industrial or software markets will be advantageous.
