INTERNAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE
About Role
Are you a confident and target-driven sales professional who enjoys working with customers and turning enquiries into sales? We are looking for an experienced Internal Sales Representative to manage customer enquiries, quotations, orders and relationships while driving growth within an assigned customer base.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Respond to customer enquiries and prepare accurate quotations.
Convert quotations into confirmed sales orders.
Process customer orders accurately on the system and manually when required.
Liaise with customers regarding order status, lead times and backorders.
Source and order non-stocked materials from suppliers and other branches.
Negotiate pricing with suppliers on non-stocked materials.
Arrange customer deliveries and supplier collections.
Conduct regular follow-ups with existing, new and dormant customers.
Cold call potential and dormant customers to generate new business.
Manage an assigned customer base and ensure monthly sales targets are achieved.
Drive annual growth across the assigned customer portfolio.
Assist customers with product and technical queries.
Handle customer account queries and assist with resolving issues.
Raise credit notes when required.
Assist walk-in customers when necessary.
Schedule appointments for External Sales Representatives.
Maintain a high level of customer service at all times.
Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
Perform any other duties or tasks reasonably assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS
Previous experience in Internal Sales or a similar sales role.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing an existing customer base.
Experience with quotations, sales orders and customer enquiries.
Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Experience sourcing products from suppliers will be advantageous.
Good product knowledge, with experience in steel, fluid control, engineering, plumbing or related products highly advantageous.
Strong administration and attention to detail.
Computer literate and comfortable working on an ERP/sales system.
Confident with telephonic sales and cold calling.
Target-driven, proactive and commercially minded.
