The successful candidate will assist with the inspection, servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment. This role is ideal for someone who is technically minded, eager to learn, and interested in developing their skills in a practical, workshop-based and field-service environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nAssist with the servicing, maintenance, and repair of equipment and machinery.\nPerform routine inspections to identify faults, wear, and potential mechanical issues.\nAssist senior technicians with troubleshooting and diagnosing technical problems.\nCarry out basic mechanical repairs and component replacements under supervision.\nEnsure that all tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean, organised, and safe.\nFollow maintenance schedules, technical procedures, and workplace health and safety requirements.\nAssist with the preparation of equipment for delivery, operation, or customer use.\nReport faults, maintenance requirements, and repair progress to senior technicians.\nMaintain accurate service records and complete relevant job cards and documentation.\nProvide assistance with on-site repairs and servicing when required.\nDeliver professional service and support to customers when needed.\nMinimum RequirementsGrade 12 / Matric.\nA technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Diesel Mechanics, or a related field will be advantageous.\nPrevious experience in a technical, mechanical, workshop, or equipment maintenance environment will be beneficial.\nBasic knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.\nA valid driver’s licence will be advantageous or required, depending on operational needs.\nSkills and CompetenciesStrong mechanical aptitude and technical problem-solving skills.\nWillingness to learn and develop technical knowledge.\nGood communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.\nGood organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks effectively.\nA proactive, reliable, and safety-conscious approach to work.\nAbility to work independently as well as part of a team.\n Personal AttributesThe ideal candidate will be hardworking, dependable, and enthusiastic about building a career in the technical field.
