This is a hands-on technical position suited to an experienced, trade-qualified professional who can work independently and deliver accurate, high-quality results with minimal supervision.\nCandidates must be work-ready and have practical experience in line boring and bore welding, as training will not be provided.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform on-site and workshop-based line boring operations on heavy machinery and equipment.\n\nCarry out bore welding, bore restoration and precision machining to repair worn or damaged components.\n\nInspect, measure and assess components to determine the extent of wear, damage and required repairs.\n\nOperate line boring equipment, welding equipment and associated precision machining tools.\n\nUse micrometers and other precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate measurements and tolerances.\n\nPerform machining and repair work in accordance with technical specifications and quality requirements.\n\nDiagnose mechanical issues and identify appropriate repair methods.\n\nEnsure all completed work meets the required standards for accuracy, functionality and durability.\n\nConduct equipment checks and ensure tools and machinery are maintained in good working condition.\n\nAdhere to workplace health and safety procedures when working with machinery, tools and heavy equipment.\n\nComplete assigned work within agreed timeframes while maintaining high standards of workmanship.\n\nWork independently and demonstrate sound technical judgement when resolving operational challenges.\n\nBe available to work overtime when required to meet operational and project deadlines.\n\nMinimum Requirements\nA relevant trade qualification as a Turner, Fitter and Turner, or Machinist.
