the Role\nAn excellent opportunity exists for a highly experienced Engineering Manager - Mechanical (15+ years) to lead the Mechanical Engineering Department and oversee the successful delivery of complex engineering projects.This senior leadership position combines technical engineering expertise, departmental management, project oversight and the development of engineering teams.\nThe ideal candidate will have extensive experience in process plant engineering, particularly pressure vessels, heat exchangers and associated mechanical equipment, together with proven engineering management and leadership capabilities.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead, manage and develop the Mechanical Engineering Department, including engineers, designers and draughtsmen.\nProvide technical leadership and oversight across multiple engineering projects.\nOversee the design and engineering of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping systems and process plant equipment.\nEnsure engineering deliverables meet technical, quality, budget and project schedule requirements.\nEstablish and maintain engineering standards, design procedures and quality assurance practices.\nCoordinate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, clients and suppliers.\nManage departmental resources, workloads, technical performance and staff development.\nProvide strategic input into engineering capabilities, operational improvements and business growth.\nMinimum Requirements\nBEng Mechanical Engineering.\nMinimum 15 years' experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within process plant or EPCM environments.\nProven experience in engineering management, technical leadership and multidisciplinary project delivery.\nStrong technical background in pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping systems and mechanical process equipment.\nSound knowledge of relevant international engineering codes and standards, including ASME, EN and SANS.\nExperience managing engineering teams, departmental resources, budgets and project deliverables.\nStrong leadership, communication, decision-making and client engagement skills.\n ECSA Professional Registration (Pr Eng) highly advantageous.\nWhy
