Job Vacancy: Personal Lines Underwriting

Location: Bedfordview, Gauteng

Seniority Level: Mid Career (2 - 4 yrs exp)

Employment Type: Permanent

Reporting to: Underwriting Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Endorsements/ Amendments on existing policies
  • Perform broker productivity on all brokers with outsourced/ binder agreements
  • Attending to all Broker queries within prescribed SLAs and turn-around times
  • Action Renewals (monthly/ annually)
  • Requesting VAR Surveys on new business and/ or existing business upon renewal stage and consider all relevant Risk Requirements
  • Processing Corrective action based on claims history
  • Process cancellations in accordance with internal operating procedures and time frames
  • Retaining business wherever there is a risk of losing a client
  • Providing quotes on existing policies upon a broker's request for the addition/ removal of an item/ asset
  • Disciplined management of daily diary system

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: RE 5, Matric, Class of Business - Personal Lines, FETC in Short Term Insurance, Higher Certificate in Short Term Insurance (adv)
  • Skills: Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Exposure to TIAL Operating System is highly advantageous. Sound knowledge of short-term insurance policy wording.
