leading engineering and energy consultancy is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to join its technical team and contribute to a diverse portfolio of power-system and energy infrastructure projects.The successful candidate will be responsible for power-system studies, network modelling, electrical design and technical analysis, supporting projects from feasibility and concept development through to detailed engineering, implementation and commissioning.\nThe role will provide exposure to utility networks, industrial power systems, renewable-energy projects, substations and grid integration.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform power-system studies including:Load-flow analysis\nShort-circuit calculations\nMotor-starting studies\nVoltage-drop and voltage-profile assessments\nHarmonic and power-quality studies\nNetwork stability studies\nPower-factor correction\n\nDevelop and maintain electrical network models.\nPerform grid impact and grid-code compliance studies for generation and renewable-energy projects.\nUndertake protection coordination studies and assist with protection-system design.\nProvide technical input into HV and MV electrical system designs.\nReview and interpret substation primary and secondary/control schematics.\nDevelop technical reports, calculations, specifications and engineering documentation.\nSupport the design and specification of transformers, switchgear, protection systems, cables and associated electrical equipment.\nInvestigate power-quality and network-performance issues.\nProvide technical support during procurement, installation, testing and commissioning.\nReview vendor and contractor documentation.\nLiaise with clients, suppliers, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.\nParticipate in site inspections and technical investigations.\nAssist with project proposals, feasibility studies and technical due diligence.\nEnsure engineering deliverables comply with applicable standards, specifications and statutory requirements.\nMinimum Requirements\nBEng / BSc / BTech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.\n3-8 years' relevant power-systems engineering experience.\nPractical experience with power-system modelling and analysis.\nExperience using DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, PSS/E or similar software.\nStrong understanding of electrical power systems and network analysis.\nExperience with load-flow and short-circuit studies.\nKnowledge of HV and MV systems.\nUnderstanding of protection systems and coordination.\nGood technical report-writing and engineering documentation
