opportunity is available for an experienced, hands-on Roadfreight Export Controller with strong SADC roadfreight export knowledge and proven experience dealing directly with transporters and negotiating rates.\nThis role requires someone who is actively involved in the day-to-day operational side of roadfreight exports, from obtaining quotations and negotiating transport rates to coordinating shipments, managing documentation and resolving issues at borders.We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their shipments, understands the commercial side of roadfreight and can build strong working relationships with transporters and clients.\nKey Responsibilities\nPrepare roadfreight export estimates and quotations\nDeal directly with transporters and carriers to obtain, negotiate and maintain competitive rates\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with transporters, service providers and clients\nCoordinate and monitor SADC roadfreight export shipments from dispatch through to delivery\nConsolidate compatible cargo and ensure profitability on each load\nArrange cargo dispatch within required timeframes\nPrepare manifests and border documentation\nProcess SADC documentation, Certificates of Origin (COO) and phytosanitary applications where required\nComplete RCG reporting and MPR manifests\nFollow up on customs and border-related issues and resolve delays or discrepancies\nArrange RIB and RIT shipments, monitor proof of delivery (PODs) and ensure acquittals are completed\nAssist with import roadfreight shipments when required\nManage shipment files, invoicing, disbursements and supporting documentation\nProvide clients with accurate daily shipment updates\nMaintain accurate shipment records and operational notes on the relevant systems\nRequirements\nProven experience in roadfreight export controlling, preferably within the SADC region\n Direct, hands-on experience dealing and negotiating with transporters and carriers\nStrong knowledge of roadfreight rates, quotations, load consolidation and transport coordination\nUnderstanding of SADC export documentation and border procedures\nExperience resolving customs, border and shipment-related challenges\nStrong commercial awareness with a focus on profitability and cost control\nGood customer service, communication and problem-solving skills\nStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously\nComputer literacy and experience working with freight forwarding systems\nImportant Candidate Profile\nWe are specifically looking for an operationally hands-on individual who has personally managed roadfreight export shipments and negotiated directly with transporters.Candidates whose experience is primarily focused on subcontracting transport requirements to external providers, without personally handling the operational and negotiation process, will not be
