leading engineering and technology organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (ECI) Engineer to join its team and contribute to technically challenging projects within the pyrometallurgical and minerals processing industry.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ECI professional with a strong background in process plants, furnaces, electrical systems, instrumentation and industrial automation to take technical ownership of projects from concept and FEED through detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.\nThe successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, process specialists, project managers, clients and contractors to deliver robust and reliable ECI solutions for complex industrial and pyrometallurgical facilities.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead ECI engineering activities across pyrometallurgical and minerals processing projects.\nDevelop and review electrical, control and instrumentation designs from concept through detailed engineering.\nDevelop and review control philosophies, functional specifications and automation strategies.\nDesign and specify electrical distribution systems, MCCs, control panels, PLC panels and remote I/O systems.\nDevelop instrumentation specifications, instrument datasheets, loop diagrams and termination schedules.\nProvide ECI input to P&IDs, equipment specifications and multidisciplinary design reviews.\nDesign and integrate PLC, SCADA and DCS control systems.\nDevelop and review control system architectures and industrial communication networks.\nProvide ECI engineering solutions for furnaces, feed systems, material handling, off-gas systems, cooling systems, pumping systems and associated process equipment.\nParticipate in equipment selection, technical evaluations, procurement and vendor management.\nReview supplier drawings, documentation and technical submissions.\nParticipate in FATs, SATs, commissioning and plant start-up activities.\nProvide technical support during construction and installation.\nConduct site inspections and troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation and control-system issues.\nEnsure engineering deliverables comply with applicable IEC, SANS, client and industry standards.\nCoordinate ECI interfaces with process, mechanical, civil, structural and project engineering disciplines.\nPrepare technical reports, specifications, scopes of work, BOQs and engineering documentation.\nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers.\nEngage directly with clients and provide technical input during project meetings and design reviews.\nSupport project planning, cost control, scheduling and execution where required.\nMinimum Requirements\nBEng / BSc / BTech in Electrical, Electronic, Control or Instrumentation Engineering.\nProfessional registration with ECSA or eligibility for registration would be advantageous.\n5-8+ years' relevant ECI engineering experience.\nStrong experience within mining, minerals processing, pyrometallurgy, metallurgy, process plants or heavy industrial environments.\nProven experience delivering engineering projects through the EPC/EPCM project lifecycle.\nStrong knowledge of electrical power distribution, industrial automation and process instrumentation.\nExperience with PLC, SCADA and/or DCS systems.\nExperience with industrial communication networks and fieldbus systems.\nStrong understanding of instrumentation design, control loops and process measurement.\nExperience with MCCs, VSDs, motors and industrial electrical equipment.\nProven experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning and troubleshooting.\nWorking knowledge of relevant electrical, instrumentation and safety standards.\nStrong technical report writing and engineering documentation skills.\nAbility to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.\nWillingness to travel to project sites, including potentially international
