The successful candidate will resolve complex security issues, implement and maintain security technologies, and strengthen the processes and standards that protect business systems.\nThis role requires a hands-on security specialist who can work independently, advise stakeholders and mentor other analysts and administrators.\nKey Responsibilities\nInvestigate and resolve complex technical information security issues, working with business and technology stakeholders to develop effective solutions.\n\nImplement, support and optimise security technologies, ensuring the stability and availability of the environments under your responsibility.\n\nAnalyse system logs, security reports and management information to identify deviations, investigate issues and implement corrective actions.\n\nPlan, assess and implement security changes across low-, medium- and high-risk categories, verifying successful implementation and addressing associated risks.\n\nCreate, maintain and review information security standards, processes and procedures.\n\nMonitor security environments for alignment with established policies, standards and best practices.\n\nEvaluate new security products and solutions, define selection criteria, and participate in research, proofs of concept and technology assessments.\n\nSupport the implementation and operational handover of new security technologies.\n\nReview project documentation and provide technical security input throughout the system development life cycle.\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve security processes, reduce risk and deliver cost-effective solutions.\n\nCollaborate with vendors and internal teams on security products, services and incident resolution.\n\nProvide technical guidance, supervision and mentoring to security administrators and analysts.\n\nStay informed about emerging threats, attack vectors and developments in security technology.\n\nProvide support outside normal working hours when required to resolve critical issues and maintain service availability.\n\nMinimum Requirements\nAn advanced diploma or relevant bachelor’s degree.\n\nCISSP, CISM or a relevant equivalent security qualification/certification is essential.\n\n10-15 years’ experience in an IT environment.\n\nAt least two years’ experience in a senior role within a relevant technical discipline.\n\nAt least 3-5 years’ experience specialising in an information security technology.\n\nDemonstrated experience implementing, supporting and troubleshooting security technologies.\n\nExperience managing technical changes, resolving incidents and maintaining operational stability.\n\nTechnical Knowledge and Skills\nInformation security threats, attack vectors and security principles.\n\nInformation security policies, standards and procedures.\n\nGovernance, risk and controls.\n\nTCP/IP networking and relevant operating systems.\n\nSystem log analysis, reporting and data analysis.\n\nSystem development life cycle and project delivery principles.\n\nRelevant regulatory requirements.\n\nVendor management and technical stakeholder engagement.\n\nClear technical documentation and business writing.\n\nPersonal Attributes\nStrong analytical judgement and problem-solving ability.\n\nConfidence working independently and taking ownership of complex issues.\n\nAbility to explain technical matters clearly and influence stakeholders.\n\nA collaborative approach and willingness to share knowledge.\n\nAbility to coach and develop colleagues.\n\nA practical approach to improving processes
