The analyst will provide project teams and decisionmakers with clear visibility of test coverage, open defects, quality risks and release readiness before systems are implemented.\nThe role must determine testing depth, test priorities, risk coverage, defect severity, regression scope and whether the available evidence supports a release-readiness recommendation. These decisions can affect release timing, project cost, operational continuity, financial controls, customer experience, and the level of risk accepted by the business.\nRole purpose:\nThe Software Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for establishing and executing structured quality assurance and software testing practices across the company’s technology and digital transformation projects. \nThe role ensures that software applications, integrations, workflows, reports, and digital solutions meet approved business requirements, operate reliably across interconnected systems and are sufficiently stable for implementation. The Software Quality Assurance Analyst will work closely with project managers, business analysts, developers, vendors, technical teams and business stakeholders to identify quality risks, develop testing strategies, execute testing, manage defects, and provide evidence\nbased release-readiness recommendations. \nThe role will support applications across the company and its associated brands, including web and mobile applications, internally developed systems, vendor solutions, Microsoft Power Platform applications, POS integrations, transactional platforms, reporting solutions, and operational systems.\n.\nKey responsibilities:\nQuality assurance strategy and planning:\nDevelop and maintain appropriate test strategies, test plans, test schedules and quality-assurance approaches for technology projects and software releases.\nDefine the scope, objectives, types, environments, resources, dependencies, risks, entry criteria and exit criteria for each testing cycle.\nEstimate testing effort and provide realistic input into project plans, sprint plans and release schedules.\nApply risk-based testing principles to prioritise high-impact business processes, financial transactions, security controls, integrations, and customer-facing functionality.\nEnsure testing activities are aligned with the approved project scope, business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.\nIdentify required test environments, devices, system access, test accounts, data and technical dependencies before testing begins.\nRequirements review and testability:\nReview business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, process maps, business rules and acceptance criteria to confirm that they are clear, complete, consistent, and testable.\nIdentify gaps, ambiguities, conflicting requirements, edge cases, control weaknesses, and quality risks before development is completed.\nWork with the Business Analyst, Project Manager, developers, and business stakeholders to clarify expected results and resolve requirement uncertainty.\nContribute to requirement and solution walkthroughs from a quality-assurance perspective.\nEnsure that expected results and quality standards are sufficiently defined before test cases are prepared.\nTest case design and test preparation:\nDesign and maintain test scenarios, test cases, test scripts, checklists, and test data requirements.\nEnsure testing covers positive, negative, boundary, exception, validation, and end-to-end business scenarios.\nLink test cases to the relevant requirements, user stories, or acceptance criteria.\nMaintain reusable regression test packs for key platforms and business processes.\nTest execution:\nExecute manual functional, system, integration, end-to-end, regression, smoke, sanity, usability, and compatibility testing.\nValidate that software functionality meets approved business and functional requirements.\nTest complete business processes across applications, databases, APIs, workflows, notifications, reporting tools, POS systems, and third-party platforms.\nTest software across relevant browsers, devices, operating systems, and user roles.\nRecord actual test results and retain appropriate screenshots, logs, extracts or other supporting evidence.\nPerform exploratory testing to identify issues not covered by predefined test cases.\nIntegration and transactional testing:\nTest integrations between internal systems, vendor platforms, APIs, POS systems, payment services, databases, Microsoft 365 services, and reporting platforms.\nValidate successful and unsuccessful transaction paths, including error handling, retries, timeouts, cancellations, duplicate transactions, and interrupted processes.\nConfirm that data is transferred correctly between systems and that statuses remain synchronised.\nTest reconciliation, audit and reporting outputs arising from integrated transactions.\nIdentify whether defects originate within a specific application or at the boundary between integrated systems.\nPay particular attention to financial, voucher, payment, loyalty, customer, reporting and other high-impact transaction flows.\nDefect management:\nLog defects with clear titles, descriptions, reproduction steps, expected results, actual results, evidence, environment details, and business impact.\nClassify defects according to agreed severity and priority definitions.\nFacilitate defect-triage sessions with developers, business analysts, project managers, vendors and business representatives.\nTrack defects from identification through investigation, resolution, retesting, and closure.\nReproduce reported issues and provide clear supporting evidence to technical teams.\nRetest corrected defects and perform appropriate regression testing to identify unintended consequences.\nRegression testing:Develop and maintain regression packs for business-critical applications and recurring release cycles.\nIdentify existing functionality that may be affected by new development, configuration changes or defect corrections.\nExecute regression testing before significant releases and after material changes.\nEnsure that new functionality does not negatively affect existing processes, integrations, controls or reporting.\nRecommend suitable candidates for test automation based on frequency, stability, risk and repeatability.\nTrack regression coverage and outstanding gaps across releases.\nUser acceptance testing support:\nWork with the Business Analyst, Project Manager and business stakeholders to prepare the User Acceptance Testing approach.\nAssist with translating business requirements and acceptance criteria into business-focused UAT scenarios.\nConfirm that the UAT environment, user access, test data, and supporting information is ready.\nBrief business testers on the UAT process, expected evidence and defect-logging requirements.\nSupport users during execution and help distinguish defects from requirement changes, training needs, configuration issues, or new enhancement requests.\nTrack UAT progress, defects, decisions and sign-off.\nEnsure that outstanding defects and accepted risks are clearly communicated before business approval is requested.\nMinimum qualifications:\nA diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related discipline.\nISTQB Foundation\nMinimum experience: \nFive to ten years' experience in software quality assurance, software testing, test analysis or a comparable role.\nDemonstrated experience preparing test strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, and regression packs.\nExperience testing web applications, mobile applications, enterprise systems, or transactional platforms.\nExperience performing functional, system, integration, end-to-end and regression testing.\nExperience managing defects through the complete defect lifecycle.\nExperience working directly with developers, business analysts, project managers, business users and external vendors.\nExperience working in Agile, Waterfall or hybrid development environments.\nExperience producing clear testing reports and presenting quality risks to stakeholders.\nAdvantageous experience:\nExperience within QSR, retail, hospitality, franchising, or multi-site operations.\nExperience testing POS, voucher, loyalty, payment, ordering or other high-volume transactional systems.\nExperience testing APIs and integrated systems.\nExperience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint and Dataverse\nTechnical knowledge:\nSoftware Testing Lifecycle\nAgile, Scrum, Waterfall and hybrid delivery approaches\nTest planning and test estimation\nRegression, smoke, and sanity testing\nDefect lifecycle management\nUser Acceptance
