The Role
You will take full ownership of the daily operation of a busy FMCG retail store, ensuring every department performs efficiently while delivering exceptional service standards and strong commercial results.This is a floor-presence role where visibility, leadership, urgency, and accountability are essential.
Responsibilities
- Full store oversight across all departments
- Shift management and structured daily floor walks
- Enforcing operational standards, policies, and procedures
- Staff management, scheduling, discipline, and team development
- Buying, stock control, and inventory management
- Liaising with suppliers and sales representatives
- Driving turnover, profitability, and customer satisfaction
- Managing shrinkage, wastage, and operational controls
- Ensuring a world-class customer experience at all times
- Leading by example and maintaining high energy on the floor
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years’ Store Management experience within FMCG / grocery retail
- Experience within major retail grocery environments
- Strong operational and floor management ability
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage large teams
- Excellent stock control and commercial understanding
- Hands-on leadership style with strong accountability
- Matric essential
- Retail Management qualification advantageous
- Valid driver’s licence and own transport essential
