Qualified tradesman (Millwright/Fitter & Turner/Tool & Die Making)
Preferably minimum ND Mechanical.
Sound supervisory experience.
Supervisory/HSE Certificates.
Minimum of 5 years Supervisory experience, managing a Team of Artisans.
Administrative:
Control expenditure within the approved budget for plant repairs and building maintenance.
Ensure daily job/time sheets are submitted timeously.
Capture completed job cards on a daily basis. Submits daily attendance register and pay queries relating to time keeping. Files copies of attendance registers and pay queries.
Informs security through written passes before contractors enter premises.
Complete accident reports for WCA when necessary.
Raise purchase requisitions with the correct authorization before official HL orders are produced.
Ensure critical spares are mad stock items.
Complete insurance claims due to unforeseen machine breakdowns.
Ensure all purchased goods correspond to supplier tax invoice.
Quality:
Ensure safety regulations are upheld by subordinates.
Responsible for enforcing housekeeping and requirements as per OSHACT.
Attend Health and Safety meetings and addresses maintenance related concerns raised by the health and safety representatives.
Other:
Liaise with external contractors.
Supervise employees:
Supervise maintenance employees.
Assigns work to subordinates and instructs subordinates on actions to take in order to achieve high degree of resourcefulness and ingenuity.
Ensures subordinates are equipped with the proper safety equipment to perform their functions/tasks.
Motivate subordinates in order to achieve maximum productivity.
Resolve grievances that may arise within the maintenance department
Ensure consistent application of the Code of Conduct.
Liaise with HR with regards to disciplinary corrective action to be taken if or when required.
Communicate and enforce company policies and procedures to hourly paid employees.
Identify training and on-the-job training needs for subordinates in conjunction with the Training Department.
Arrange for replacements by liaising with HR department.
Planning:
Responsible for planned preventative and predictive maintenance.
Plan maintenance needs according to production requirements.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondences.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organisations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
