Team Lead: Logistics

FORMAL EDUCATION:

• Grade 12 (NQF 4)
• Degree or Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management

EXPERIENCE:

• 3 -5 years’ experience in management in Logistics within the ICT environment
• Track Record of delivery, stock management, procurement, warranty recoveries & freight
• SAP experience

TECHNICAL / LEGAL CERTIFICATION

• Safety training courses e.g. SHEQ.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage daily Logistical operations and employee management
• Plan or implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processes.
• Design models for use in evaluating logistics programs or services
• Direct inbound or outbound logistics operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety performance, or logistics quality management
• Ensure compliance with company policies or procedures
• Develop risk management programs to ensure continuity of supply in emergency scenarios
• Ensure that all backup equipment is stored, packaged and handled according to the current national logistics standards and relevant policy.
• Continually ensure that all health and safety requirements within the warehouse or store environment are not only met but also adhered to
• Conduct and manage stock takes
• Makes sure all variances are investigated and actioned accordingly
• Manage repair cycle
• Manage warranty and repairs
• Vehicle Management - Ensures all trucks/vehicles available are in good working order so that they are loaded and leaves on time with deliveries at the correct conditions
• Manage security of warehouse(s) and store(s)
• Create Adhoc, Daily, weekly, monthly reports
• Ensures internal and external processes are followed in the execution of Logistic functions
• Manage and control inventory within warehouse(s) and store(s)
• Manage Operational Expenses
• Negotiate with suppliers or customers to improve supply chain efficiency or sustainability
• Continually defines ways to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management and accounting
• Maintains lasting client/vendor relationships.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• MS Office suite is essential, with above average excel and powerpoint skills
• Verbal - and business writing skills are essential
• Excellent people skills and the ability to interact on all levels
• Ability to work under pressure and with sense of urgency while maintaining exceptional accuracy levels
