Desired Outcomes:\nClear, visible and measurable success indicators for the role.\nYear-to-date (YTD) On Time In Full (OTIF) > 98%\nYTD Stock Write-offs or Losses < 0.10% of stockholding\nStock Counting Accuracy of 97%\nGovernance Audit results (FSSC) - No major non-conformances that could risk accreditation\nZero missing invoices - ensure all Proof of Delivery (POD) documents correspond with signed invoices\nInter-branch distribution at 100% - no outstanding orders from previous months due to logistical issues\nZero lost time injuries\nFleet availability maintained at 98%\n100% training completion for warehouse staff\nCustomer complaints fewer than 8 incidents\n100% adherence to site and fleet maintenance schedules\nPeople retention rate of 90%\nFuel standards for key fleet vehicles aligned with industry benchmarks (measured against Fleetwatch)\nImproved driver behaviour via Ctrack compared to the previous year (Safety Dashboard, etc.)\n3. Skills, Traits and Competencies:\nProven experience within distribution, warehousing, and logistics sectors\nTrack record of successful logistics and distribution management\nDemonstrable leadership and staff management capabilities\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills\nAbility to manage multiple projects independently\nStrong interpersonal skills to maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders\nEffective leadership qualities\nProficient computer literacy\nExperience with any ERP system advantageous\nKnowledge of food safety and health and safety compliance\nExperience in managing people, including recruitment, development, motivation, and disciplinary procedures\n4. Management\nManage all company vehicles, forklifts, equipment, and machinery.\nBe accountable for fleet maintenance schedules and ensure vehicles are maintained at optimal condition and cost efficiency.\nConduct regular fleet inspections to ensure compliance with the Road Traffic Act, company standards, and delivery commitments.\nStock and Procurement Management\nPlan and execute purchasing activities to maintain optimum stock levels at all times.\nEnsure compliance with the Procurement to Payment (PTP) policy.\nDemonstrate cost-conscious approaches in all purchasing and operational decisions.\nContinuously seek financial optimisation opportunities to reduce spend where possible.\nIdentify and implement productivity improvements by eliminating non-value-adding tasks.\nOperational Excellence\nEnsure adherence to customer delivery governance standards, including signed invoices and accurate credit reconciliations.\nManage daily picking to meet productivity targets and despatch orders in accordance with backorders.\nPromptly resolve, report, and document any errors or issues concerning picking, systems, staff, dispatching, or credits.\nMaintain the site, warehouse, work areas, vehicles, and equipment in a clean, orderly, and presentable condition at all times.\nEnsure all stock received is properly logged, Goods Received Vouched (GRV’ed), and stored within 48 hours of arrival.\nManage stock on a First In, First Out (FIFO) basis to maintain product quality and compliance.\nAssist with company projects as required.\nOversee all processes, staff, deliveries, and logistics to maximise productivity.\nEnsure accurate and regular stock takes and cycle counts are conducted.\nPlan delivery routes effectively, ensuring trip sheets are completed and accounted for.\nCommunicate as necessary with internal and external customers regarding any relevant business matters.\nThird-Party and Maintenance Management\nManage third-party contractors’ performance in line with company policy and agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).\nOversee all processes and resources related to the Maintenance
