Application Support Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Application Support Engineer based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to reliable, scalable, and high-quality technology services within a global environment. You will help connect software development, platform engineering, and day-to-day operations through strong DevOps practices. The position combines technical leadership, operational oversight, delivery management, and team coordination. You will support the full application lifecycle, from design and development through deployment, production support, and continuous improvement. A key focus will be building automated, repeatable, and reliable delivery and testing processes. You will collaborate with stakeholders and teams across multiple geographies to improve operational excellence and accelerate technology delivery. The role is well suited to a technically strong professional who enjoys leading teams while driving resilient and customer-focused solutions.

Accountabilities:

• Lead and coordinate DevOps operations, aligning product design and development activities with business, operations, and production requirements.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to execute DevOps strategies and ensure reliable, scalable, and sustainable technology services.
• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of operational capabilities, processes, tools, and supporting frameworks.
• Support the end-to-end product and portfolio lifecycle, ensuring agile development practices continue effectively through production.
• Promote collaborative development and continuous integration to identify integration risks early, reduce costs, and shorten testing cycles.
• Establish and improve iterative, frequent, repeatable, and reliable testing and deployment processes.
• Manage delivery pipelines that enable continuous automated deployment and testing, supporting continuous delivery of enhancements and fixes.
• Monitor and validate operational quality while enabling early visibility into functional and non-functional characteristics through automated testing and monitoring.
• Oversee production support activities and ticket outcomes to maintain system availability, performance, and service quality.
• Coordinate system and acceptance testing activities, including software security testing, across development and integration initiatives.
• Manage individuals and teams by allocating responsibilities, coordinating work packages, and providing appropriate supervision and direction.
• Develop, maintain, and improve operational procedures and technical documentation supporting application operations and enhancements.
• Ensure support requests are handled consistently according to established standards, procedures, and service expectations.
• Apply effective risk, change, project, and quality management practices to support successful delivery and operational sustainability.
• Encourage collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and adherence to established DevOps principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Solid professional experience in software development, application support, deployment, and IT operations.
• Demonstrated experience deploying software solutions in outsourced IT, managed services, or similar technology environments.
• Strong practical understanding of DevOps principles, including the intersection of software development and operations.
• Experience with deployment processes, monitoring and management tools, platform engineering, automation, and software delivery practices.
• Demonstrated team management and technical leadership experience, with the ability to coordinate people, priorities, and delivery outcomes.
• Experience working across multiple teams and geographies in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
• Experience with quality management approaches, techniques, and principles.
• Strong capabilities in system integration, implementation planning, data validation, quality assurance, deployment, operations, and technical solution sustainability.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP; relevant certifications are preferred.
• Knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as Bash, Python, or Ruby; relevant certifications are a plus.
• DevOps and/or Agile certifications are preferred.
• Excellent analytical thinking, judgment, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong stakeholder and relationship-management skills, combined with customer-centricity and effective planning.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong ability to manage risk, change, projects, operational priorities, and competing business requirements.
