Bookkeeper

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Bookkeeper based in India.

This is a fully remote, full-time opportunity for an accounting professional who takes pride in accurate, well-organized financial records. You’ll manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities while supporting invoicing, payments, reconciliations, payroll, and tax reporting. The role offers broad exposure to accounting operations within a fast-growing, international business environment. You’ll work closely with a multicultural team where attention to detail and financial accuracy directly support business performance. The position is well suited to someone who is organized, analytical, dependable, and comfortable working independently. You’ll also have opportunities to develop your accounting expertise as the organization continues to grow.

Accountabilities

• Maintain accurate daily bookkeeping records in Zoho Books, following applicable GAAP accounting principles and established procedures.
• Process vendor invoices, manage vendor registrations, generate customer invoices, and support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Perform regular bank and account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accounting records remain complete and accurate.
• Process employee salaries, commissions, expenses, and other payments accurately and within required timelines.
• Prepare and file HST returns and compile monthly and periodic financial reports in accordance with applicable requirements and internal policies.
• Maintain organized financial documentation and records, ensuring information is readily available for reporting and review.
• Support additional accounting and bookkeeping activities as required, responding effectively to changing business needs and priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience.
• 2-3 years of professional accounting or bookkeeping experience, with experience in food and beverage, retail, technology, or similarly fast-paced environments considered an advantage.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and proficiency with Zoho Books, or a demonstrated willingness and ability to quickly become proficient with the platform.
• Intermediate to advanced spreadsheet skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent typing, organization, time-management, and record-keeping skills.
• Clear and effective interpersonal communication, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues in a remote and international environment.
• Ability to work independently, manage recurring responsibilities, and meet deadlines reliably.
• A suitable remote-work setup, including an up-to-date computer, second monitor, and high-speed internet connection.
