This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex commercial contract negotiations within a global financial technology environment. You will work at the intersection of commercial strategy, legal considerations, client needs, and business operations. The position involves advising stakeholders, leading cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring negotiated terms are accurately reflected throughout the contract lifecycle. You will help balance business objectives with contractual and regulatory risk while supporting innovative solutions. The role provides exposure to SaaS agreements, evolving technology, regulatory requirements, and high-impact client engagements. Success requires strong judgment, accountability, communication skills, and the ability to navigate competing priorities.
Accountabilities
- Lead and manage the negotiation of client contracts, documenting and communicating agreed pricing, solution design, commercial terms, and economic components to relevant leadership.
- Advise management and key stakeholders on contract timelines, deliverables, commercial issues, and potential solutions to overcome barriers.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, resolve competing priorities, and maintain accountability for meeting project requirements and client expectations.
- Review contracts and related legal documentation throughout the contract lifecycle to ensure negotiated terms are accurately reflected and aligned with corporate policies.
- Analyze contractual provisions, provide language recommendations and negotiate terms while balancing business requirements with contractual risk mitigation.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders, management, and legal teams to evaluate and approve innovative contractual solutions and provisions.
- Tailor contractual documents to specific business platforms and evolving client requirements, considering developments in technology and the wider industry.
- Support the development of policies and regulatory research, and identify actions needed to adapt contracting processes to technological, regulatory, audit, and corporate changes.
- Develop and update contract templates to support new products, services, and commercial initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Demonstrated professional experience analyzing, reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Hands-on experience with SaaS contract negotiation and an understanding of the commercial considerations involved in technology agreements.
- Strong ability to interpret contractual and legal documentation and translate business requirements into practical contractual solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to advise senior leaders and collaborate effectively across legal, commercial, operational, and technical teams.
- Strong judgment, negotiation, problem-solving, and prioritization skills, with a high level of ownership and accountability.
- Ability to manage complex projects and competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and contractual accuracy.
- Advanced English proficiency, both written and spoken, for effective collaboration in an international environment.
