Community Science – Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Community Science - Analyst based in the United States.

Working alongside experienced consultants, you’ll support engagements from research and data collection through analysis, reporting, and implementation.

The position combines analytical work with writing, presentations, stakeholder engagement, and project coordination.

Accountabilities:

• Research and evaluation: Support qualitative and quantitative research activities, including survey development, interviews, focus groups, literature reviews, document reviews, and other data collection methods.
• Data management and analysis: Collect, organize, clean, manage, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data using tools such as Excel, R, SPSS, or comparable research software.
• Client insights: Help interpret findings, identify meaningful patterns, and translate research into practical insights and recommendations for clients and communities.
• Writing and deliverables: Draft reports, memos, proposals, presentations, technical documents, and other client-facing materials tailored to different audiences.
• Data visualization: Develop clear charts, tables, infographics, and other visual materials that communicate research findings effectively.
• Presentations and engagement: Support client meetings, presentations, discussions of findings, technical assistance, training, and capacity-building activities.
• Project coordination: Coordinate tasks, timelines, deliverables, and priorities across multiple projects while maintaining quality and proactively communicating progress or emerging needs.
• Team collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across practice areas, contribute ideas and solutions, participate in project meetings, and seek guidance when appropriate.
• Proposal development: Contribute to proposals by coordinating activities, preparing supporting materials, drafting sections, and helping produce high-quality submissions.
• Professional contribution: Maintain an approximately 85% project utilization target and participate in approved professional development and internal practice initiatives.

Requirements:

• Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in public health, public policy, sociology, psychology, education, social work, or a related social science discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Relevant experience: At least 3 years of professional experience in research, evaluation, consulting, community engagement, capacity building, or a related field.
• Research capabilities: Demonstrated experience collecting, organizing, managing, and analyzing qualitative and/or quantitative data, as well as conducting interviews, focus groups, surveys, or similar research activities.
• Analytical skills: Strong critical thinking, analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and research synthesis capabilities.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and adapt materials for different audiences.
• Project management: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities simultaneously.
• Technical proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, plus familiarity with research and analysis tools such as SPSS, R, NVivo, Dedoose, or similar platforms.
• Consulting mindset: Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced consulting environment and contributing across different projects, clients, and subject areas.
• Independence and collaboration: Able to take ownership of work, operate independently, communicate proactively, and know when to seek input from colleagues.
• Adaptability: Curious, flexible, eager to learn, and committed to continuously improving professional skills and the quality of deliverables.

• Work location: Must be located within one of the 50 U.S. states or Washington, DC, and able to provide proof of authorization to work in the United States.
• Travel: Willingness and ability to travel as needed for client meetings, project activities, or community engagement.
