Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Compliance & Governance Analyst based in India.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in strengthening compliance and governance across a growing international organisation.

You will serve as a trusted source of expertise on Indian legislation, regulation, privacy, and corporate governance requirements.

The role combines regulatory monitoring, compliance oversight, risk management, audit support, and stakeholder advisory work.

You will collaborate with teams across HR, Finance, IT, Information Security, and operations to translate regulatory requirements into practical actions.

Your work will help identify compliance gaps, strengthen controls, and ensure obligations are clearly documented and effectively managed.

The environment is collaborative, international, and remote-first, with significant autonomy and opportunities to influence how compliance evolves.

This role is well suited to a curious, proactive professional who enjoys constructive challenge and turning complex requirements into practical solutions.

Accountabilities

    • Act as a key point of knowledge for Indian legislative, regulatory, privacy, and corporate governance requirements, providing practical guidance to stakeholders.
    • Monitor changes in Indian legislation and regulation, assess their potential business impact, and coordinate appropriate actions with relevant teams.
    • Maintain the India compliance obligations framework and regulatory calendar, ensuring requirements, ownership, actions, and supporting evidence remain accurate and up to date.
    • Support compliance with Indian data protection and privacy requirements, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act and associated rules.
    • Support corporate and company-secretarial compliance activities, including board and general meeting requirements, statutory filings, resolutions, registrations, licenses, and renewals.
    • Work closely with HR, Finance, IT, Information Security, and operational teams to identify obligations and support their effective implementation.
    • Identify actual or potential compliance gaps and provide recommendations, constructive challenge, and escalation where appropriate.
    • Prepare clear reporting on compliance activities, regulatory developments, risks, issues, remediation actions, and overall compliance status.
    • Support and conduct internal compliance, management-system, audit, and assurance activities, while monitoring corrective and improvement actions through completion.
    • Help establish, maintain, communicate, and periodically review policies, procedures, controls, and governance documentation.
    • Support supplier compliance and due-diligence activities, including reviewing relevant contractual terms, NDAs, and compliance considerations.
    • Support the India Risk Management Guild and contribute to the wider enterprise risk management framework and compliance initiatives.
    • Build strong relationships across the organisation to promote effective cooperation, accountability, and a positive compliance culture.
    • Contribute to broader compliance, governance, risk, and assurance projects while providing support to senior compliance leadership.
    • Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and take ownership of new initiatives as regulatory and business requirements evolve.
    • Requirements

      • 6-8 years of practical experience in compliance, governance, legal, company secretarial, regulatory, or a closely related role within India.
      • Strong working knowledge of Indian legislation, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance practices.
      • Demonstrated ability to research, interpret, and communicate complex legislative and regulatory requirements in clear, practical language.
      • Experience monitoring regulatory developments and translating changes into actionable business requirements.
      • Knowledge of Indian data protection and privacy requirements, particularly the Digital Personal Data Protection Act and related rules.
      • Experience maintaining compliance registers, regulatory calendars, governance records, policies, procedures, and controls.
      • Strong analytical, organisational, documentation, and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
      • Excellent written and spoken English and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at different organisational levels.
      • Confidence in providing constructive challenge, identifying concerns, and escalating compliance issues appropriately.
      • Experience creating, adapting, or implementing policies, procedures, and internal controls.
      • Ability to understand and interpret relevant contractual terms and conditions.
      • Strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence working with digital collaboration tools.
      • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and remain adaptable in a changing environment.
      • Experience with internal audit, ISO management systems, enterprise risk management, or supplier due diligence would be advantageous.
      • A curious, proactive, resilient mindset with strong ownership and a genuine interest in understanding the business impact behind regulatory requirements.
      • Benefits

        • Competitive salary based on skills and experience.
        • Generous leave package, including 25 annual leave days and 7 sick leave days, plus maternity and paternity options.
        • Inclusive medical insurance covering you, your spouse, and up to two children.
        • Group personal accident insurance.
        • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and telehealth support.
        • Term life insurance.
        • Opportunities for professional learning and development through practical experience and formal training.
        • Opportunity to build broad expertise across compliance, governance, risk, and assurance.
        • International collaboration with colleagues across India, the UK, and the wider global organisation.
        • Remote-first working environment with flexibility to work from anywhere in India.
        • Opportunity to contribute to meaningful compliance and governance initiatives within a global business.
